Heated socks?

Does anyone have experience using heated socks?... and if they work well could possibly recomend a brand/model of socks? I have had boot heaters before but after 2 days in the park the cables broke.. So hoping to find another way to achieve a warm foot this winter.
 
Hotronic socks are the best IMO in terms of customer satisfaction. I sell a lot at the shop I work for and people fucking love them. I’m not sure how durable they are for park use given it’s mostly old people who buy them at our shop, but it’s a pretty lowkey external battery that doesn’t stick out too much or anything so I’d imagine they’d do well.

Which model (weird to say that about a sock) did you use, and how thick was it?

I'm cheap so I'd want the 4.0, but I see the 5.0 comes in a "slim fit", and that might be better for my current boot fit

I used the 4.0. It was thicker than what I typically wear but was not so thick that it completely fucked my boot fit. The slim fit is an anatomical fit, and not a thickness of the material.

I was worried that it they would cause fit issues as the material seemed pretty thick, but it's more fluffy than thick, and compressed well in the boot. But honestly, they are so awesome that I would consider a little extra boot work.

It's really nice to have the bluetooth control so that you can dial in the heat just right. I don't use them to keep my feet warm, I use them to keep my feet not cold if that makes sense.

My reasoning behind using them was that I really like the fit of the stock liner on my Tecnica Mach1's, but I was used to intuition and the warmth they provide.
 
Got a few friends who love em, both crusty old locals and young media types who shoot a lot of photos and stuff and wait around in negative temps for shots to line up.

only heard great things except you just can’t put em in the dryer cuz you fry em.

Yep, just hand wash and hang dry. Not that big of a deal actually.
