Heat molding old intuition liners?

Hello all,

My old intuition liners are way too old and packed out. I'm looking for a way to improve the fit for the last couple weekends of the season before I get new boots. I was planning on trying to heat mold them a bit using the ole rice in the sock method. Is there any point to trying this, or should I just tough it out for the next few weeks?

If they are packed out, there isn't a lot you can do. You could add footbeds/foam pieces in the right places to take up some room but heat molding them will only help so much if they are too big

Depends how old they are and how many times they've been cooked.

My friend re-cooked some Intuitions after a couple of seasons and they swelled up like the Michelin man and completely reset his fit.

I go through a pair of intuitions about once a season. Just get a new pair. And personally, I don't heat mould them. It sucks for the first week or so but it'll help the liners last longer. And get the pro liner. Feels way better than the stock liner.

Having a good gear mold liner and not gettin it moulded is just stupid. An intuition more then any other liner really needs to be well heated to get your heel set back, it will also usually require toe caps to be used.

I tested it it this season. I tried just skiin them and they will bed in but never as well as if you mould them. And moulding will not mean tey pack out any faster so just get them moulded you really will see a huge difference.

How many days are you skiing? A friend of mine was in Dalbello Il Moros and the liner outlasted the shell, probably close to 200 days on them.

That would be a good amount of days. Generally your probably looking at around 100 days out of an intuition.

First off, don't call me stupid if you don't know the difference between then and than. I've moulded my intuition liners in the past and I wanted to see what it felt like to not mould them and it worked just fine. So no, it wasn't stupid. They fit me perfectly without being moulded.

I had been using the stock liners and got 70-80 days a season on them before they got packed out. I did a lot of hiking/walking in them so that definitely packed them out faster.

I'm not calling you stupid buddy I was saying your suggestion to not mold a heat mold liner was a stupid one.

Honesyly they hey will not fit as well. I know you say you have tried both ways but if you think just bedding them in is as good you possibly have not had them heated properly in the past.

A well ell heated and molded liner will be so much better then could be achived just by wearin them.

Nope, sorry, it's stupid to give that as advice to someone whose feet you will never see, don't get butthurt for being called out on it.

Just because it works for your feet/legs, which I'm going to assume are extremely "normal", doesn't mean it'll work worth a shit for someone else. Bootfitting is an extremely individual thing which means that the fact it worked for you is essentially irrelevant.
