They will probably rape you with prices, I'd go to a local ski shop instead

Also true. I work at a shop and the most we'd charge for that would be like 10 bucks.

Spend some time doing the research and find an expert boot guy with a good reputation. I finally did that and had my boots worked on and it is awesome. I'm so much more comfortable and I feel like a pro since I have a real pro boot guy that has real pro clients. Going to buy some shells he recommended and get him to make me custom boots now. Really way less expensive than I ever thought it would be and less than REI will charge to f up your boots. If you are around Mt. Hood let me know and I'll give you his # otherwise just use the google and find out who the real pro WC guys go to and find their cell number and just slide on in to their schedule.

Yeah. I have not had good luck with guys at retail shops either. Sounds like the shops in your area are lame and overpriced. $90 for a mount is 2 to 3 times what a good shop charges here. REI might be your best bet but I'd try to scope out the tech doing the work to make sure he seems like he knows what's up.

yeah the area I live only got one ski shop remains within 1hr driving distance, they offer me nice discounts on ski boots and skis but other stuff are mostly overpriced. REI staff is ok, they are nice people, they only got 2 guys to run the bikes and skis repair shop so no ski services can be done on the same day, the sales guy is not a pro, but he def knows what he got on the floor to sell.
