Heads-up for iPhone users

It'll be patched with 3.0.1, no doubt. If not, 3.1 is due out in September.

What I'm more angry about right now is the recent app take-downs for Google Voice apps. The fact that AT&T has so much control over the App Store is just bullshit.

i love the internet. everyone believes every single thing they have ever read.

lets sit down and use some commen sense for a little second here kiddies.

1) if some computer nerd found a glitch in the iphones softwear that potentionally could help him take over the world, do you seriously think that apple dosnt know about it yet? further more would their R&D team not have a new patch and install out already to avoid this kind of situation?

were talking a multi-billion dollar company here with more resources then some european countries i can name.

2) why would you even want to hack a iphone anyways? big deal, you have access to peoples internet? free bandwith yayyy. or you can read someones sexmessages? im getting a chub just thinking about all that sexy sexy text.

sure you could cause a little trouble, but nothing thats ever going to seriously fuck the phone owner.

and why would you ever invest endless hours into hacking a iphone when you could spend the same amount of time to hack something usefull, like a computer which has access to a little bit more important information then text messages. such as passwords, banking info, etc etc etc etc.

any body remember Y2K? now that was a serious fuckin threat that the media blew up and instilled fear into the hearts of many. and what happened that night at 12:01am? absolutely fuckin nothing.

this article is no more then some apple hater hating on the man because macs dont support WOW or he's bitter at the world cause he cant afford a iphone.

Its extremely possible that "some nerds" found something that apple doesn't know about. Actually just about every company out there receives bug reports and "hacks" from independent companies and individuals and often relies on them for finding flaws.

My company uses iphones and I could certainly see a competitor wanting to hack the phones in order to gain access to emails potentially containing proprietary information. Sounds like it would be considerably easier than hacking our network.

It's not the fact that there is a exploit as it is the fact that Apple has been made aware of a serious flaw and has done nothing to solve the issue.

I don't get why you dont believe this... i think your complete distrust in the "internet" makes you just look like an idiot

this is a glitch. it has something to do with keeping people from jail braking their iphones. people were given a certain ID. But this glitch messed up that whole ID deal and so everyone started to get other peoples texts.

Windows 7 has already been leaked out, the OEM version is now all over torrents, yet windows 7 has not actually come out yet (besides the RC and beta). shit happens bro.

your an idiot if you don't believe this... even if you do, i still think your an idiot

A high percentage of the time, it's security experts who find holes in software. Apple is no different except that they're relying on the Mach kernel, which, because of FreeBSD, has gone under extensive code reviews. The iPhone runs a similar kernel.

I find bugs and misdocumented code in the Apple iPhone SDK frequently.

I mean this nicely because words don't do it justice. Hacking code is an obsession. Being the first to hack a new platform, especially one that is so high profile and mobile, is a huge deal. For computer nerds, it's all about recognition and feeding your ego.

they've done nothing? you have actual proof that they're sitting on their hands at this very moment? you REALLY think they're just ignoring this?

they're working on it. DUH.

then im a idiot.

i beleive there is probably a glitch, do i beleive the earth will impode at the core however?

no
