Headphones to buy

Ok I already know there are lots of threads about this but I'm not just asking what skullcandy looks the coolest aight. So I have $80 for headphones and so far my options are:

Skullcandy SK Pro

I know these are skullcandy but they see like fairly high quality headphones, I've never heard people on this site talk about the SK pro so I'm not really sure on how good they are but they seem like good heaphones

Grado Sr60

These are Grado and have great reviews and apparently they are pretty nice headphones, they don't look that cool but whatever, I'd rather have sound quality than rasta or fake bullets.

Sennheiser HD215

I've heard Sennheiser is a good quality company and these headphones look good, although they seem like pretty damn big headphones.

I'm mainly getting these for car and plane rides and stuff, I won't be wearing them while skiing. I have $80 to spend and I've been using froogle to see what my options are and reviews and such. I listen to a lot of rap so bass is pretty important but I don't want to sacrifice other aspects just so I can have a bass that shakes my head. If there are any other headphones I should consider post up, thanks guys. I know most people here just buy skullcany but if anyone has any experience with these other headphones please post here.

If you have 80 bucks don't by skullcandy, you can get Tis and such for like 40 bucks on amazon.com go for something else.

I'm not just buying the regular crushers, t.i, g.i, or that kind of stuff, for skullcandy I'm only looking at the high end (I think they are?) SK Pro's, and they retail for $150, but I fould them on froogle for $70.

ohh ok, well still i think you could get a better high end headphone than skull candy.

ya, you're probably right and I've heard Grado and Sennheiser are nice.

Also what does open air mean in terms of headphones? cause one review I read said that it sounds like there are speakers outside the headphone, which would mean I can't use them on an airplane...

I suppose I can spend around $100 now

so add Grado SR80 to the list, I've heard they have better bass and that the SR60's don't have that great of bass.

Also add the Sennheiser HD280 to the list, they are probably better than the 215's.

i would sugest getting a headphone amp as well (the cheapest are $20 on amazon), most portable players can't power those headphones enough to get high volum.

I got AKG k181's for 140. best headphones ever. there is no downside, theres a great range of sound, they are super loud, comfortable, deeeep bass, and fit well around the ear. I'd say spend a few extra dollars, i got these a few days ago and havent taken them off.

I have the Skullcandy proletariat. No one seems to talk about them on here, but they're noise canceling and I love 'em. They're amazing on airplanes for blocking out the sounds of the motor or in the car for blocking the sound of the wind. Even without the noise canceling on they block some noise as they're over the ear. I bought them for $50 on Amazon, they retail for over $100 so I jumped on it.

I can't do $140 for headphones, I wish but I gotta buy other stuff too.

So I figured out what open air means and I guess if I use them on an airplane people around me will be able to hear them and that wouldn't be good so I'm not buying Grado's anymore :(

I guess that makes it Sennheiser HD280's or Skullcandy SK Pro's.

shiiiit. I was just looking at the SK Pro's and people hatin on them over there right before I opened this tab back up. I'm waiting for my account to be approved....it's been like 30 min since I created it...
