Headed to utah tomorrow which I am extremely stoked about. I'm going to be skiing Alta thurs-sun but I'm looking for any area recommendations for wednesday. I was thinking about going to Solitude, I've been to snowbird too, which would be a good option. Pretty open to suggestions, and I don't care about the park situations since I'm leaving my park skis at home.

I'm not even going to attempt to get to chads gap, the passage is to dangerous with MFM and MDP and goblins and shit

Even though sarcasm is coming up on my meter,
When all the pow is gone everywhere else in Utah, Deer Valley still has plenty of fresh days after a storm, cause all the skiers there are rich old men who don't like skiing the fun stuff. And they have some decent terrain too. So at least keep it in mind.

Snowbird of Brighton. Simple as that, they will both get the brunt of this next storm coming through tonight and they are calling for 8-16 inches. Plus, brighton has $20 tickets on Wednesday, Dec 15th if you bring in a grocery bag of canned foods to donate.

brighton is super legit, plenty of fun terrain. all high speed lifts too which is a big plus, i personally like it better than solitude

Almost all of my laps up in jupiter were fuckin solid. Face shots almost every turn. It gets tracked out fucking easily though. Your best bet on a pow day up there is to get up there early. Thats if you are only subjected to just the PC area.

Solitude has some crazy terrain, and like the name implies, you will find lots of SOLITUDE which is nice. Really can't go wrong with any of them.

Brighton has amazing BC access, so even if it hasn't snowed in a few days, you'll be able to find stashes.

I highly reccomend NOT riding Brighton on Wednesday. $20 tix are not worth the complete shitshow it will be up there. Ride solitude instead. There will be 1/10th the people and you'll get fresh tracks all day.

i second that. i have been there the last two $20 Wednesday and it was fucked. i cant imagine how packed it will be after the storm that is moving through tonight.

solitude is amazing.

my gripe, honeycomb canyon is a bitch to ski because of all the slow speed lifts youve got to take to lap it.

/ sounding like a spoiled bitch :)

although DV was suggested as a joke. IMO its not that bad because like everyone has said, the only people that ski there are 50+ year old men that dont ski off the groomed.

Last weekend was so fun. I hiked jupiter peak and got some fresh turns in. Super fun. But its not great when its not a pow day.

yeah i've seen PC in all of its glory during a shitty day.
Been to DV during a dumping day, not necessarily a lot of hills there with vert unless you hike Empire?
Canyons is too big to even grasp. But I know that the pow is all up in there.......
Hey how easy is it to access the western slope in Honeycomb Canyon, the slope that faces the east........
I remember last year there was tons of untracked snow on the face that faced eastern, and if I were able to make it all the way around the bend I could have had face shots all day
