1. A, for a twin.

2. b.

3. Hahahaha. E: drop them out of a plane at 30,000 feet onto a minefield and then let 1000 ninjas go at them with swords. Then pick them up and go ski.

4. a, because they so stiff.

5. Yes, they're built for it.

6. How heavy are they? Pretty damn heavy. Hope you have some leg strength. And the graphics. I wish they were a bit fatter, I guess.

Ive got a pair of the black and white ones. Theyre alright. They hold their own in the park and definitely on the mountain, but their weight is their downfall. It feels like skiing with bricks on your feet

there soheavy because they use the same lay up as there rental line! extra layers of fiberglass and they are beefed up like mad, which means durability but the trade off is a bit of wieght, there a great all around twin, and i tihnk the new ones they have a 80mm waist instead of a 75mm and the grpahics got a tad better, but there still gross.

well are the new ones(with the snakes) any differant from the old ones?

---------------------------------------

- Simon

Real East Coast Skier

^ nope the only diferernce is the 'snake type' topsheet which is supposed to be more resistant to chipping and scratches compared to the black and white ones.

i meant the 05/06 mad trix have a wider wasit.

well how heavy are the madtrixs compared to the 1080's? Cuz I find my 1080's super light

- Simon

Real East Coast Skier

Hahaha... yeah. No. 1080s are like paper, MTs are like bricks.

yeah maybe, what about chronics, how are they on all mountain?

chronics aren't really an all moutain ski there dope in the park

'kevin whyed nils pull you out?' 'Cuz i was touchin bitches.' 'No seriously why did he put scott in for you.' 'Scott doesn't touch bitches.'

Viva Candide

chronics and PEs basicly have the same dimensions, probably 1 or 2 mm differance at the tip and tail but nothing big, both 80mm under foot, why would the chronics not be all mountain if the PEs are?

Mad Trix are sick skis.

Get them if you ski all over.

Or even spend a little extra on the mojos if you want to float more in powder.

The extra weight isn't that bad, since your legs should be strong already if you are actually going to be putting the skis to good use.

The extra weight is good for bombing through crud or uneven mogully/bumpy runs.

They are solid as can be at high speeds, no chattering or anything of the likes.

You can find the older ones for super cheap off ebay. I'm not sure if there's much difference in them.

i have the 02 mt's and they are def bomb proof, super solid at high speeds too

Let us have a revolution

I do rails on mine, they're the 2002s, and they haven't delamed or anything... then again they are painted. Just lots of paint has chipped off.

The edges haven't dented or bent at all either... a small crack on one, but am yet to notice any difference in them.

The reason PEs are so much better than chronics all mountain is because of the flex pattern. Chronics just aren't really designed to hold an edge at higher speeds, while PEs are.

Screw this I'm going skiing

I use MoJo's. I dont think they are heavy, but i havent used other twintips for are long time now. I'm buying mad_trix next season, the new ones will be dope!

****I have ridden these skis, this is what you need to know****

I have a few question regarding this ski

1.How flexible is it?

a)Very stiff (Like so stiff that it took me a year of ridding to break them in)

2.How are the edges?

b)solid(they are beasts)

3.How durable are they?

a)Very Durable

4.Hows the pop for jumps?

b)Poppy (alright not the best)

5.Are they good for all mountain? (Groomers, Trees, moguls, all that stuff) : They are a very skiiny ski, so they do alright but not as great as some other skis on the market.

6.What do you dont like about itand you would change?

I would leave it how it is...or make it a little wider, not much though. And then I would never buy it and leave it for the people that like that kind of ski

******In conclusion to your thread and answer all your questions: Buy 4FRNT MSPs. And rip everything up, cause they are the motha fucking best.**********

.

Ive had mine scince the end of last season and I have to agree with everything JD may says. The only thing id want to change on mine is an extra 5 to 10mm on the waist. I dont find them too heavy but they weigh more than other twins.

ok maybe they are not the skis for me.

the guy who is selling the chrons send me pics and they seem very nice, I dont know

The PEs arent exactly light either. i think there pretty similar skis actually. The PEs chip alot though which drives me crazy.

my 02 mt's chip like crazy! i have like 6 different spots on my skis where they've chipped, but i don't care cause i got htem used and with bindings for like 150

Let us have a revolution

Small chips don't really do anything.

If it starts to peel and delaminate all over, then it's a bit of a problem.

I agree with JayPeak on the weight question. I think they're about the same weight. Though my MT's are 10 cm's longer than the PE's i had.

So therefore they might feel 'lighter' than they are. (I don't remember the name of the psychological phenomenon behind the effect)

well someone said that from 1080's going to chronics, they will feel stiff, and the madtrix would just be too stiff and heavy

so If the chrons have almost the same demensions as the PE's, and they are stiffer, why woudnt they be good on all mountain? yes I know about the flex patern, but god, cant be that bad

I went from 165 concepts to 181 mad trix, and I was fine with the transfer after a day.

I have a pair of mad trix at the moment. . .I want to turn them into a park ski. Should I remount my skis at true center or core center(whats the difference). right now its at +4 but it seems so far back.

^Wierd... I had mine at +4 and they were limiting, thanks to the stiffness. Tip dives in power like whaat... I keep them on the line now. But forward mount them 1cm in front of true big air forward, and let us know how that works out. I was considering doing it. Since they're the only twins I know of that are meant to be mounted backwards, they'd probably kill it switch that way.

They work like magic at +9, if you mount them there with looks, theyre perfectly balanced, spin like a dream, feel like they weigh half as much as they used to, and still kill it at high speeds cause theyre just so stiff. Yes they're not as good in powder, but its not like they ever were, i mean they have a 75mm waist. Just lean back in pow

FUCK BIGGIE

im gettin mine back tomorrow so ican finially ride them again. ive only been on them 5 times but i can tell you thier top sheet cracks alot, thier stiff as fuck and dont get tyrolia bindings for them. but tother than that i suppose its an alirght ski.
