I got this email from planned parenthood. basically bush now wants to remove birth control along with actual abortions.....

Hi,

I thought you would all want to join in and be heard to try to

stop Bush from destroying our country even further. President

Bush has just issued a regulatory change that lets health care

providers define abortion, which could threaten access to birth

control and broader reproductive health care, and allow federal

funding for so-called "crisis pregnancy centers" that refuse to

inform patients of or provide patients with a full range of

reproductive health care options.

There's a 30-day comment period before the new regulation takes

effect, during which Planned Parenthood and other groups are

raising a massive outcry in defense of women's health care.

When more and more families are uninsured and having difficulty

accessing health care at all, and when at least one in four

teenage girls has a sexually transmitted disease -- implementing

a rule that will limit access to services is utterly perplexing,

unconscionable, and just plain wrong. It will only hurt the

women who most need help at times when they are most vulnerable.

I believe it's our job to help stop it. Please join me in

that rule is the most stupid thing ive ever heard. I dont even know how many high school kids rely on birth control.
 
Ah...nowhere in there does it say people won't be able to get birth control - it says health care providers can define abortion and not provide that service. I'm sorry, but there's no way birth control can be defined as abortion.

This is a very skewed and sensationalist piece.
 
How did you get "bush wants to get rid of birth control" out of that email? Did you even read it?
 
thats more what im concerned about. id rather abort a tiny, not even really a fetus. than have more kids born into families that cant support them

1st off, thank you for keepin' it real, "dickwads" this is what these forums need more of, srsly. That being said, a dead baby is better off than half dead baby. Unless you want to exploit them for cheap labor or something, then it's alright; but we just float them along with welfare and the like.
 
they are premature. where do you draw the line. my retarded baby, is it half dead? can i leave it in a storeroom to die? or only if i originally tried to get rid of it by say using a condom. i didnt want it right? just like someone who aborted and failed. you just opened up a huge can of worms.
 
i ask this with all people who do not believe in abortion....

what if a woman gets raped and finds out a few months later shes pregnant. do you think she should have to give birth to that rapist's child? or do you think that its her body and should control what comes out of it? i may be off point of what you're trying to say but i think it comes down to as simple as it is her body and behind a certain point (which seems fine as of now) can do whatever she wants with it.
 
I'm sorry but I can't just believe emails like this. Theres really no proof given for any of this and to me it sounds like just an anti-bush thing.

It's not my place to say what a girl should do in that situation.. because I've never been there so I can't say.

But with all do respect you can't use that situation to make laws for the rest of us. It doesn't make sense.

The reality of it is that a very small scale (look at the numbers) of pregnancies happen due to rape. Largely because in those extreme situations women are heavily stress induced which overproduces toxins and makes it damn near impossible for them to be pregnant.

Yes, in some situations it happens. But for any sane person to try and use your analogy as grounds to define laws for the rest of us is preposterous.
 
true it is a small percent, but the point to take away is that with these laws, you're speaking for the women. man is basically deciding when the egg and sperm combination becomes a living being. whats the basis for the man's decision? oh yeah thats right, religion. a religion started by man, oppressing women and is essentially an old book of stories.

now isn't that a little preposterous in its own right?

but which man are you talking about? If you're referring to Bush.. what decision? because I read the article.. and I followed the link.. and I saw nothing damning or anything that directly connected him with putting a stop to birth control.

If anyone can find the real law that he passed and what exactly it entails.. can you post it? so we can take it from there.

otherwise, there's no discussion here besides propaganda.
 
the main thing about abortion is when does life become life. one side is completely influenced by religion-based ethics. am i missing somehting here?

it doesnt matter what bush wants to do, if you know one fuckin thing about the government, u know the president doesnt just mandate this and it goes into law

it would never get through the house or the senate
