OBAMA ROYALLY FUCKED HIMSELF IN THE ASS with this healthcare thing. People just don't want the government in their healthcare shit.

thoughts?

well ppl are pissed tat theyre gonna have to pay for it, and if the government controls it, they decide when a bunch of stuff can happen. he shouldn't have picked this to work on

i guess i should put my imput in here as someone who is familiar with socialized medicine. and the fact that i have an outsiders perspective.

for one, i would say that canada has a great healthcare system. some people end up waiting a little while for certain things but on the hole i would say its pretty damn good. ive never needed anything that i havent gotten right away. ive also never waited more than an hour in an emergancy room.

i beleive that american media puts so much negativity on socialized medicine because of the pressure from pharmacutical companies that would lose millions of dollars from socialized medicine.

maybe ive got the total wrong idea. im tired.

I think .1% of you have read the actual proposed plan or know enough about this to be commenting. Otherwise, it's just bullshit.

ya know i may not know much, but from whats goin on, ppl are preettt pissed off. all that im sayin

i was actually hoping to learn something from seeing the responses this thread came up with

45 million Americans are without healthcare. That means 15% of America. Why the fuck should the other 85% have to sacrifice there private health insurance. And in the past 6 presidential elections, the elderly have voted 3 times for the democratic candidate and 3 for the republican, healthcare really affects the eldelry obama with medicare. Way to blow getting reelected in 12. Plus you see how well they projected the national defecit ha. idiots. were gonna go into a double-dip recession with huge inflation. Obama just is just sticking the shaft deeper and deeper up americas ass.. FUCK YA!!

Bull shit, call out one media agency besides fox news that does that. And if they do then maybe there is something negative about socialized healthcare

I'm not sure whats going on in the US at all, but it sounds like a public system is going to be put in place and private insurance done away with?

Why not do what we have in NZ. There is a public health system that anyone can use for free, however there is also a private system of health insurance so you can skip the public wait list if you've insured yourself.

The public system is generally pretty good. Sure, some things you're on a waiting list for, but for general things it's really good. Lots of drugs have a govt subsidy, so unless you require some specalised medication the most you pay is $3 per perscription

see, what you're doing here is bringing what some would call "logic" or "reasonable discourse" to this discussion, but that sort of tomfoolery is frowned upon 'round these parts.

spot on, my friend.
People are receiving too much negative and sometimes false information about this system (ex. The government is NOT between you and your doctor) The private pharmaceutical companies are upset with this new system because they can no longer rip off many family by absurd costs and still provide sub-par quality help. IMO, this new healthcare system will benefit more of the country than it will harm.
I also heard on the radio this morning that the response to this issue also has to do with the people's geographical location. I, living in Maine, receive high quality coverage at a rather cheap price, but people in Florida receive high quality care for a higher price, and texas, low for low or something similar to that. The response to this issue depends on your location.

please excuse my double post, and i don't mean to sound like an uber-peace hippy, but if we weren't fighting in a war right now, you would realize how good of a program we could make off of the money we have spent there. Sorry to say it, but if we were not blowing that money on that war, it would be so cheap for the tax payer, and the system could probably be twice as good.

honestly health care debates are hard to argue on a forum mostly made up of kids who still haven't left their parents benefits.

That being said, every employer I have worked for or interviewed for has health benefits.

If anyone is between you and your healthcare right now it's the insurance companies. His plan doesn't abolish anything it only provides an alternative, but you can keep your health care if you're satisfied. Everyone's worried about the government denying them treatment but it certainly can't be any worse than what is already taking place. So many people can't get insurance due to pre-existing conditions or the need for extremely expensive procedures that could potentially save their lives and the insurance companies (it's a business remember) want to keep their costs down so they make the heartless business decision to not.

the amount of money needed to fix the healthcare system is about 1/20th of the money shelled out for the economic recovery shit, and even less than that in what we spend on the war, so i think we can afford it

really really REALLY dumb question... in the count for people without health care... why do they count illegal immigrants? any answers to that?

I rethought my math. if they claim 250 million to fix healthcare and we spent almost 1 trillion on the bailout package, that's 1/400th....we can def afford it, fuck, china's paying anyways

This is because they are still a part of the population that makes up the US and, their numbers are large enough to be significant.

woah woah whoahh... that way thinking is way too socalist! you'll be packed off to a capatilist boot camp if you're not careful haha
