HDPE problems?

I got 1/4 inch and applying it with a countersink bit was easy as easy comes.

HDPE is awesome and slippery. BUT

I noticed its quite soft?

I toook my sharpest edges and they dug in pretty easy but i was thinking with my mellow edges with an even higher impact wont they dig into the surface or scratch?

Anyone had any problems with it or any solutions to your problem?

Sounds weird as hell. I doubt it would have got its reputation as one of the best materials for box topsheets if it caught though.

really no point in having HDPE if you have coping. but anyway, is it just the edges? mine did it to but once the edges dull out it works good. if its catching in the middle sounds like your skis arent landing flat or there is some kind of high spot on the sheet of HDPE

yah i just built a box with HDPE as a topsheet, and ill admit it does fray a little on the edges. but im pretty sure its near impossible to catch in the middle of the sheet. also mines not all that slippery, should i just like wax it down or something?

^any plastics manufacturer just look on the internet or phone book thers lots. i just got some today

Fuck dude, I just payed 42 for a 4x8 foot sheet the other day, then got screwed on the shipping. $48 for shipping, plus it has to be cut in half into two 4x4s. So my 16ft box will be comprised of four 4ft sections. Damn. $100.... Whats the cheapest place to buy it?

It depends on how you plan on attaching it. If ur gonna screw it on u need to countersink ur screws so you dont ketch ur edge on them. You cant countersink in 1/8 inch its too thin.
