HD GoPro

MIIINEEEE!!! i was saving up for a wideangle GoPro, but if they drop a HD this winter, i might just spend my buck on that one.....

used these out in Hood last week to make the ski promo video for the outdoor show this week - they are indeed incredible. I would think they'd easily be in the hands of like half of every action sports person out there

Does anyone know why VIO hasn't come out with an HD version of their helmet cam? It seems like they're getting beat by HD cameras that are half the cost.

I dunno about you, but im not trying to take my helmet cam off a bunch to make sure everything is set correctly...

what makes it great is the fact that it has ZERO manual controls yet still puts out a good image for it's size.

Looks like it. They both have a 5 MP CMOS.

ContourHD

1280x720 (720p HD) @ 30 fps

848x480 (standard def) @ 60 fps

GoPro HD

* 1080P HD 1980×1080 30 fps @12 Mbps

* 960P HD 1280×960, 30 fps @ 10 Mbps

* 720P HD 1280×720, 30 fps @ 7.5 Mbps

* 720P HD 1280×720, 60 fps @ 15 Mbps

I'd buy the GoPro HD just for 60 fps @ 720p.

anyone know a sponsorship contact email for gopro???? they dont give specific emails on the site and they didnt respond to their general email.

We have a bunch coming in for this winter!

Now that they have a new lithium battery instead of using AAA's they'll be much more useful in the cold, plus the 720/60p is unreal.

If anyone is in Whistler this year and wants to try them out for a day call/email/message me and we'll get you hooked up.

theres a contourHD1080 too

who wants to pay 300$ for an HD camera they can only use on their helmet, theres no LCD screen which makes it useless anywhere else.

Once you develop an understanding of what you can fit in frame, you can push the limits of where this can be mounted and what shots it can achieve. Well worth the 300 buddy.

can anyone recommend the best SDHC card to buy? Do I need one of the San Disk SDHC HD video ones, or will any SDHC with a high class work just as well?

You got any pics or info for it? I had a quick look on their site but guess I'm not looking in the right place as I can't find it...

Any SDHC card will do. In fact, a class 2 is all you need even you the highest datarate. You can get class 6 32gb cards on ebay for $20 shipped. That's what I did, works great.

Wow, seems like you guys are out of luck!

The ebay member who I bought the card from seems to no longer be a registered member. I emailed ebay and asked about it. This often happens with new sellers who are trying to pull a scam but this member had over 7000 feedback 99.3% positive.

However, I dug a little deeper and found some more that look to be legit. Looks to be the same seller. They use the same item descriptions and graphics and have over 6000 feedback.

the table mis-represents the VIO 1.5 .... it has longer recording time, and adjustable white... balance contrast ... but whatever

I am sure VIO is cooking up a HD POV. IMO that would be the best thing going. I have had a VIO for 3 years, and I consistently get better shots than people who dont have a view screen to confirm camera placement. For large scale .. TV size vids, the image quality is less than desirable ... but for the facebook, youtube size videos I make it works excellent.

any under gound word a VIO HD >?
