old closed down mountain next to mount snow that i herd will be re-opened soon? wondering if anyone has ever hit it on a pow day. i think it would be sick because the trails are still cut and kickers could be made or w/e. let me know because i think it would be epic if anyone is interested in meeting up next big storm...

Sounds like a good idea, but I'd rather ski the North face glades on a pow day. However, the day or two after, it could be great. Could be one of the better EC BC booter sessions, because it definately wouldn't get tracked out and has a good enough pitch. A major project started maybe a decade ago to develop haystack into a super-lux resort, but went bankrupt. I'll be at MS from the 12th to the 22, so shoot me a PM if we get some snow and you're going. Building a jump will be much easier if we get a number of people.

there is a 3.5 mile flat trail that connects between the top of mt snow and the top of haystack.  i can show anyone where it is if they wanna know, and i ve always wanted to do it so if anyone wants to do it with me i d be down

next big snowstorm we should plan all this out. if it all goes as planned it will be so epic. or maybe this weekend might be a possibility. i might be able to get out there with a couple of kids on sunday if anyone is down

that's pretty cool. Is the trail along the ridgeline, like skier's right of the furthest out trail in Sunbrook? And I'd definately like to do it. I'll be back at MS on the 5th and 6th and from the 12th to 22nd of march.

I hiked haystack last season with a friend and her parents and I skied down by myself, and aside from some windblown deep spots the snow was crusty as fuck on top. However, there are definitely good places to build a decent sized booter. I'm down

i heard its only open on weekends, so if it does snow midweek, then you can still get fresh powder without skipping class of work.

Haha yeah I realize that, this wasn't really a planned thing, they just wanted to go hiking and I didn't feel like walking back down.

Haystack is ill.... The Witches which is the peak to the left looking up. Behind it is a big mountain top lake. The witches is like the Face at MS. Four trails used to be named after Wizards (Merlin, Etc)... The tree terrain off to the south was awesome. Was the place to be on a Saturday after a big dump on Tuesday...

Wish we still owned that place. One thing I wouldn't do, trek the 3.5 mile Ridge Trail from the top of MS to Haystack. The trail hasn't been cleared in 4 years and there are trees down etc.. Friend of ours tried to do it this summer and lets just say a search party went out after this individual who was dehydrated very not equiped for the damage of years of storms and wind...

I'd be there if not working too much down the road.

If anyone has snowmachines, there is trail by the Hermitage that leads up to base or somewhere on the mountain. My dad said that earlier this week it was all sled tracked out but I'm sure next dump it'll be sick. Bringing some sleds up there is def the way to go so you can take some laps.

o man someone message me when ur going im down w dat, its gonna b all untouched pow up there, and theres gonna b nice booters and kickers and hucks, o man come on guys lets go i win i am bettr those wre random phrases what am i saying i love you all w can do this high five yes

Talked to Rooster a few days ago at Stowe and he mentioned that the meatheads had made a trip south and made some booters on haystack. They found two good spots, so I'm pretty pumped to see what that segment is like in "Wild Stallions".

On another note, I was in Dover today and it was 55 out! Spring came early? I'm still hoping for one more storm.

i used to ride haystack every weekend when i was a little kid. The witches were sick but stump jumper was what it was all about. I bet you could make a real nice booter on stump jumper. Flatens out half way down and then gets real steep again.

its now a private mountian that you have to be a member at no parks i know the kid whoes dad bought it

Oh man, I remember going up to VT each and every weekend to ski Haystack back when I was like 12. Those were the best times and I would be so down to hit it up again if there was ever an epic pow day. It's really funny because a couple of years ago when it got bought by new owners they tried to make it into a private resort and were charging ridiculous amounts of cash. It's so surprise that that operation failed completely.

Like 25 G's. If you live in Wilmington you can ski there though I heard. They were blowing snow there the other day on my way home from work.

My parents skied there New Years Weekend with some friends while i was at mt snow, they said it was them, their friend and his wife, and one other person the entire day
