yo i have been relying on the condo next door to mine for internet during the last 4 months and for some reason they decided to be bitches 2 nights ago and put up a password key so I am stuck at home without NS and lollitas which doesnt fly with me , if you know how to break past that or if its even possible help me out
 
just ask them to remove the password...or if they ahev a kid just be like yo...whats your password
 
no i dont even know which condo its coming from and i dont think they want other people slowing down their internet
 
I just want to let everyone know that i am madd close to breaking the key and i believe today will be the day
 
godspeed, that shit isn't easy, bruteforce would be the only way I could think of doing it.
 
luckily the people i get wireless from next door were dumb enough to not change their user name and pw for their router, so i can always get in there and restart it if it's down... dope
 
this is pretty much proof that smoking weed doesnt make you any dumber...

basically in the last week and 1/2 I figured out you just have to collect like 130,000s IV's (packets sent back and forth through the wireless network) using a program like airodump which saves this info to a .cap file but to do this first I had to first discover the wireless network and the SSID and find out what channel the connection i wanted to hack was on (ch 11). The only thing stopping me now is that I need to find the compatable drivers for my wireless D-Link card so I can run airodump. Once airodump collects enough IVs, which can take a fuckload of time by itself, so you can speed this process up by injection with another program called airoplay. Once you have your captured IVs in the text file, you simply import it into aircrack which de-encrytps the .cap file and gives you the encrypted WEP key blllalaam !

well, i didn't really get that... good job on figuring it all out! I wish I knew more about this so I could do it too. exact same thing happened to me, no more free internet at home. boooo.
 
yea all the information is obviously online but understanding what the fuck those nerds are talking about and actually doing it is the challenge

If I am sucessfull I will post a nsg-friendly tutorial now that i realize im not the only one
 
That works provided they are using basic WEP for security. If they are using WPA (newer more secure system) then it wont work. Also you may have trouble finding the drivers since d-link arent widely compatible with many sniffer programs, most compatible are cisco cards (and their consumer versions - linksys)
 
my neighbor has a secure network but they stil have it as an automatic network so i connect anyways haha but ya they are morons
 
word , if anyone knows what chipset drivers work for D-link cards to run Airodump please let me know. i keep finding differnt shit online
 
drivers are a crap shoot man. ill look though. there are so many places to get them and shit that its hard to find the exact one you're looking for.
 
lucky they are still dumb and only using WEP.

Finding drivers is the hardest part, and I think there's a Linux distro that you can boot from CD that was designed for haxolorating wifi
 
I was researching it awhile back, and i got as far as eastAR5, there are alot more linux programs to hack weps then windows. its also easier suposedly
 
it sounds like your doing it right...i made an antanaee out of a pringle box to boost the antena on my friends laptop so we could get internet from my condo haha but that dosent have anything to do with what your trying
 
backtrack is the one I was thinking of. its a live cd, which basically means that you pop it in your cd drive and restart your computer and it will run from the cd without having to install anything
 
it's a little program that i like to call "jack the ripper"

google it, it gets all the passwords to everything hooked up to a network i think.
 
if you follow that guide you need to download the linux distro I mentioned a coupla posts up. its the newer version of the one mentioned in the article
 
there is never gonna be a nice and easy tutorial on how to hack someone's wireless internet, if it was that easy no one would pay for internet, i really doubt anyone here will be able to pull this off.
 
look at the name, and then think about what it could be, ive hacked 3 out of 3 trys, call it a claim but im just smart the guy had doctor in his internet so i typed "chief" thinking he was the head doctor and bam i was in. just think about it.
 
I did that before, i guessed the password to someones internet and it worked! but i was too far away to get a decent signal.
 
I'm lucky enough that there are a few wireless connections in my building that don't have a password. You gotta love those people, they either have to fuckin clue or are just generous people. I wish I knew these people so I could shake their hand for saving me so much money.
