Having illegal pets

As of late ive been really interested in getting a sugar glider as a pet, although they arent rare as pets they arent really popular either. Because of this i decided to check if it was legal to own one in Ottawa, Ontario. On my first searches i was happy to see they were legal in Ontario but unfortunatly, apon further searching, i found that Ottawa was one of they vveerryy few cities in ontario that does not allow them.

Yes i know if it illegal i shouldnt really own one, but say if i did happen to buy one how could i really get caught? And would the fact that theyre illegal really make a big deal when owning them? The only issue i could think of would be getting food, but i could easily buy that in another city.

Again, im not saying im going to go ahead and buy one, im just saying IF

Yea thats what i think, im just trying to think of things id have to deal with since its illegal, like stuff like my food example.
 
I hear there's this strange condition where people are allergic to them, its really rare but my mom has it.

springs4life- because they fly ( well glide ), are extremely loyal, easy to take care of, cheap to buy, cheap to feed (keep one healthy for $10 a month) and are adorable if i say so my self.
 
you sir, do not want a sugar glider. they are loud, they stink, they piss on you everytime you pick them up. i bought one a few years ago. i had immediatly regreted the decision
 
well if you search sugar glider on youtube, and click the first vid. The guy says how they only stink if you feed them high protein diets.

He has like 5 and they dont stink and he doesnt even give them bathes, he also said that its easy to read theyre body language when theyre going to piss or poop, so you can put them in a good place.
 
Dude, it's an Australian squirrel. If you want to get an illegal pet, get a fucking tiger or something. And don't worry about feeding a tiger, I hear that there are plenty of homeless people in Ottawa
 
I realize this, but this guy is a specialist vet for sugar gliders, he owns 5 of them, and is part of the national sugar glider association or someshit, there ip adress is .gov so its legit.

Maybe yours was just bad tempered?

some kid at my high school legit owns a monkey. no clue how he got it but if he can get away with it im sure you can
 
for sure. i have a great white in a kiddie pool in my basement, hes almost free to feed. once or twice a week i have "free turkey dinner" at my house for the homeless, and each week i feed the weakest homeless people to my shark.

a local charity even donates the turkey and shit that i feed the homeless. so its basically free
