Have you ever......

i hate it when people yell from the lift. snowboarders do it all the time here and its always stupid. like "DO A BACKFLIP" or yell at you while you are in the air and try to mess you up and stupid shit like that.
 
....anyway today was way soft and i was killin it, so therefore i tried a 5 and stomped and the people on the lift loved it, i was so pumped..... anybody else??

Getting props from the chairlift is awesome, which is why I also try to give them out liberally.

But I hate it when people talk shit from the chairlift by (a) laughing when people eat shit (although a quality Nelson Muntz impersonation is always appreciated); (b) yelling at them to do certain tricks; or (c) saying something like "Weak!" when somebody doesn't do the biggest trick.
 
i love park lifts like sugarbush's and stuff, but i hate lifts like the one at okemo that go over the top of the park, it doesnt bother me to ski under them, but when you ride up with a gaper that goes "ehh, skiers dont belong in the park, they are ruining such a pure sport" thats what pisses me off,
 
i dropped a cliff off of the sugarloaf lift at alta and I landed in about 2 feet of fresh. My skis sunk in, i double ejected and idd afront flip, proceeding to land on my feet. the people oin the lifts cheered and i put my arm up like a gymnast.
 
Im not a fan.

I did a 270 (suuper sktchy because I suck) off the shortest rail in the park and someone, cheered. BUt I don't know if i was being made fun of or someone actually thought it was cool.
 
no one can complae about alittle apreciation but being made fun of no mader what sucks. i give a yipee if it was sick some times but i dont hate
 
when i was younger i dropped a cliff at jackson right by the chair and i was on 167 chronics and i happened to stomp it and i got some props... def felt good haha. i give props whenever i see somethin dope, but i also laugh a lot at people who eat shit. like 2 weekends ago some gape is skiin down the groomer (on a fat pow day) and he eats shit. his brake doesnt work for some reason, so he sits and watches as it takes off. by this time the chair has already laughed and cheered at his wreck, but when the ski takes off, people are lovin it. it cruises straight down the hill for like 40 or 50 yards, then starts veering right. it goes off the side of the groomer where the cat had pushed up some snow and LAUNCHES and spins like a dspin and disappears into a big open field of untouched pow. haha i gave out quite a laugh after that one, along with like 100 other chair riders. i talked to a kid who lapped the chair and the guy was still searching for it like 4 runs later
 
wachussett is the best for that. the park like run right under the lift, and your in the air right near the lift.
 
I try to give props from the chair to people who I can tell they're trying. even if it's only like a 20' mute or something. because it feels so good when you finally do something, and you get recognised for it. and I try not to laugh or make fun of people when they eat shit, unless I know em, then I give em hell
 
Not that that isn't kinda funny, but I feel sorry for the kid. All decent skiers lose, if only temporarily, a ski or two in the pow at some point, and it fucking sucks. And if you laughed at him (and not just to yourself), you're kind of an asshole.
 
i can't do them, but i second that..there fun to watch and get all the ppl that know nothing about park skiing so excited
 
I get that alot on this one lift where there is a cliff (fuckin small ass one like 10 feet) but the lift goes right over it and I'm always scared that I will bang my head on peoples skis/boards when I jump. People think its cool I guess even though its small. One day I hadn't hit the cliff until like 11 am and so I started hitting it a bunch cause it was a good powder day and after I started hitting it I saw like 7 or 8 other people go for it. Made me feel a lot better than I actually am.
 
the first time i went to vail i did a 180 in the mini pak and everyone thought it was amazing. one guy had his little camcorder out and was filming straight airs, he thought that was awesome.
 
yea man, i love chairlift props. theres a jump near the bottom of one of the lifts at my mt. and i did a devils cross nd got props from the lift attendants. it gave me the most awesome ego for the rest of the week.
 
I dropped the Gabl's top cliff on a big pow day, like a 20-30 footer, the lift was all cheering and shit, and I'm kinda small so people were like, how old is that kid?
 
Another time I dropped a little cliff right below 7, went a little forward, tucked in as I landed, did a frontflip on the ground with my skis and skied away. People thought it was amazing... sheer luck is cool.
 
very true, especially since your pretty much eye level with the lift on the jumps..kinda
 
ill get props( stupid tricks, sw 3s on a 10 foot jump)

but ive also have gotten help..... i was going for a switch five (same jump^) and i caught my ski cause i spun to early ended up going to the flats on a sw crk 270 to almost face plant, so i get up, and the guy on the lift was like " oooh just a little bit more" it was funny, and yet i was kinda pissed.
 
i did a cork 7 on like a 35 footer and people cheered. i didnt think much until these snowboarders were yelling at me to go for a cork 9. i did and they loved it. i fell but they came down and said it was sick. another time i did a flat 9 and this one snowboarder was in shock and was like, "that's the sickest thing ive seen on skis". that felt good. when snowboarders give you props, especially from where i ski, then its awesome
 
i noticed that the stupidest tricks are the crowdpleasers, like daffys or cossacks....

(are Flips hard ?? and are backflips easier then frontflips ??)
