Have two decades of gorilla style permanently changed freeskiers' DNA?

Although it might not be the most popular style these days, I came of age during the THall-inspired 2000s, when homeboy was dropping into every feature and corking every 3 with his finger tips practically tickling his boot buckles. In those early years, we all wanted to look like him, so it got me thinking...

I'm 5'6" (on a good day) but have a wingspan of 5'9", so I hover around +3 - +3.5 on the ole gorilla steeze index. Does this hold true for you other newschoolers as well?

When I'm teaching people how to slide rails I always bring up the gorilla stance. People always find it hilarious and it always helps their stance.

Both. I manage a snow school at a small hill. That involves teaching walk-in park lessons and I do park sessions for any of my staff who want to learn. Also if I'm casually doing park laps I'll help anyone who's interested.

I'm also a freestyle coach although I haven't been officially coaching recently.

Very cool. Coaching is the bomb

Back in the day we kind of figured this out by trying it. Like dude hit a rail like tanner it’s so much more stable

It has its downsides through. I remember the podcast with Dumont after his edit with Tom Wallisch and he said he had trouble doing switch ups and pretzels due to his old Gorilla style and Tom helped him do rails more centered and it helped a lot.

Well obviously that's how I learned, but there's a lot of people who want to ski park and don't pay attention to any ski media.
