Have ski movies peaked?

I feel like, every since Ski Movie III, I haven't seen another really epic ski movie. Some of the other ones are ok and artistic, I usually end up being a bit dissappointed. Does anyone else feel this way? There have not been any segments like Candide or Seth's in SM III that really make your jaw drop.

Let me respond: No. Teddy Bear Crisis sent it to a whole other level, and I'm really interested in seeing what they come up with in the future.

I feel the same way except I found Focused to be my favourite video. I can watch Front Line and Focused and get super stoked for skiing but watching Yearbook, Hit List, War, TBC, it's all just Meh...

They have defenently not peaked, but I know what you mean. The reason you were so stoked when you saw SMIII etc is because skiing was just evolving then. After 1242 set the new standard, pretty much everything has just been variations of the same stuff. Granted, its all extremely sick skiing that takes rare talent, but unorginal all the same. I just can't wait until the next break out kid comes along and raises the bar even higher.

SMIII was amazing. but at least for me, it was mainly cool cuz that was like the first ski movie i watched. I was still new to the sport and seeing that simply blew me away. Ever since then i get new movies hoping they will be as good as that one and they turn out to be really good movies but once i get em i realize, they are just ski movies. Nothing thats gonna change my life or anything. Although i will admit that forward was probably the best movie since SMIII.

ski movie 3 was so sweet, but i think it was just because i was starting to get really into it and i hadnt seen much skiing that sick before. session 1242 was extremely good too. war is dandy.

SM3 was amazing, definately my favorite ski movie, though unfortunately after that movie, MSP kind of became irrelevant.

i think everyone was so much more stoked on ski movies 2 or 3 years ago. noone knew where it was going and everything was mind blowing. but definately have not peaked.

they definately havn't peaked, there's alot of cool stuff out this year.. but it's just not as amazing as SM3 and 1242 were when they first came out, because at that time it was such a huge improvement from anything that had been done before. it's still improving now, just not as fast

Meh, ski porn. But I do miss R.A.P. movies. They moved chronolgically, and where simply great films.

If you haven't seen 'em get Snow Drifters (featuring the first mute 360 by the way). Old yes, but skiing has never changed and never will.

i gotta side with outerlimitz. newer ski movies are good but i havent seen anything that made my jaw drop since ski movie 3, its still my favorite.

people say it every year and the next year people blow them away. things move on and things change so i dont think that they have peaked.

plus ski movie III was hardly an epic, had some sick bits for sure, but IN MY OPINION it wasnt the complete package.
