Sonar scans have revealed an unidentified object sitting on the ocean floor

between Sweden and Finland

An ocean exploration team led by Swedish researcher Peter Lindberg was searching for a century-old wreck containing several cases of champagne when their sonar scans revealed a mysterious circle 300ft down on the ocean floor between Sweden and Finland. Scientists are claiming this could be evidence that Earth has been visited by aliens.

The team, which has been successful in recovering sunken ships and cargo in the past, described the earth around the shape as being scarred, suggesting it had somehow moved across the ocean floor. Lindberg explained that their sonar scans show “a large circle, about 60 feet in diameter.” Lindberg was hesitant to offer an extraterrestrial explanation, though he does entertain the idea that it might be a “new Stonehenge.”

“You see a lot of weird stuff in this job, but during my 18 years as a professional I have never seen anything like this. The shape is completely round.” -Peter Lindberg

The discovery has drawn no small amount of attention from UFO watchers and bloggers – some going as far as to suggest the object is none other than the Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars series due to its similar shape. A number of Swedish newspapers are also asking the question: is this really the first sign of extra-terrestrial life?

Given that the origin of the flying-saucer concept has long since been revealed as a reporting error it’s hard to fathom that such an idea is the case here. Lindberg said his team has neither the interest nor the resources to further investigate the anomaly. If it were of extra-terrestrial origin it could be priceless, though if it’s simply a natural formation it would almost certainly be a tremendous waste of time and money. It could be some time before anyone attempts further analysis or exploration thanks to the high costs associated with deep-ocean research and recovery.

Any readers care to weigh in on the UFO theory or perhaps offer their own?

well it said it damaged the ocean floor so think of a 60 ft diameter object moving on the ocean floor? thats why it is classified as a ufo they dont know what the fuck it is. sounds interesting. i want updates.

i hope they go get it soon. no point in being like "oh, there's something down there and we're not really sure what it is, but we do't feel like finding out right now". another story if they don't have the means/funds to get it though.

interesting. I feel like they should at least send a camera down to get a closer look. I would put more money on it being ancient human artifacts than aliens, but still kind of makes you wonder.

i don't see what the controversy is all about. its round and underwater, of course aliens must be involved.

I'm always confused why aliens have been so good to go lightyears upon lightyears to fuck with this little planet, but they keep crashing their whips.

OR, just feel me on this one. WHAT IF they are purposely crashing drone spaceships to fuck with us, and they have some Truman Show shit going on where they are watching us shit bricks and run around trying to figure it out and they are just making BANK on their planet with the greatest TV show ever made? Its like Punk'd planet edition..

Calling it right now, it's a small kimberlite pipe. and in 5 years Debeers will be down there drilling it out.

and if it's only in 300 ft of water why not just go down there and look? you can even scuba dive to that depth, but it would be a piece of cake and very cheap for any of those little research subs

and now the pictures load.. scratch the kimberlite pipe idea, it's definitely the Millennium Falcon

hahaha exactly what i was thinking

but seriously. shit like this comes up once a week, this round thing on the bottom of the ocean will be totally forgotten in a month.

you could call me a skeptic

i really dont get the automatic assumption of a round object being an ufo ,

why couldn an alien space ship look like the milenium falcon ?

sort of a dumb article in that it's "oh we found this shit, it's super fucking interesting but we're not gonna do anything about it"

very cool though, i would like to see what it is. could be something from a civilization a long time ago that'd be sick

everyone reading this thread needs to consider its a perfect circle, its pretty big, and theres evidence that its moved along the ocean floor. its not just an any day thing

Im very doubtful it's extraterrestrials. The ocean floor is still very unknown to man. There's crazy formations on land so why can't there be under water? With 70% of earth covered by water it's pretty easy to assume it's just a formation. Not saying it isn't, that'd be so sick. It would be like mass effect and shit and jumps our technology ahead so many years and yeaah.

honestly its probably some secret government technology. im not one of those freaks who thinks the government has all these conspiracies. but im just saying look at the helicopters they used when they killed bin laden. they have been around for like 8 years and nobody knew about it.
