Hats off to 4bi9 and "All damn day"

I'm not sure if there's another thread on this, but I just got my copy of "All damn day" and I'm seriously impressed.

Without giving anything away, that was one of the most creative and fresh movies I have seen in a while. From the streets all the way down to the powder segments, there was something that blew my mind in each part.

My personal opinion on today's skiing is that too many people are getting "creative" confused with "corny". I don't want to watch someone ski ballet a rail, I want to see an entirely different approach to a single feature that catches me off guard, and it seemed like every other shot was doing exactly that. There were so many times during the movie where I felt legitimately jealous that those guys got to hit something that looked so fun. It was a perfect balance between mellow "style-y" tricks and jaw dropping bangers.

Now I'm all excited to get out and make some crazy builds of my own this year.

What were your guys' thoughts?

skiing was great but there is just wayyyy too much slow mo for me, the movie is just too slowly paced.

The shots of skiing/nature were all beautifully shot and graded and the soundtrack was all time and karls part was fucking insane, those last two shots.

Tim McChesney killed it, still hasnt got too much recognition.. its nuts.

Also Karl had an amazing, SOTY quality segment, it just sucks he wasnt in a Poor Boyz movie, so he didnt get recognition either.

So hyped on how this movie came together, AJ and McLeod put a ton of work into finishing it up. Karls seg is all time, tim ware and dale all slayed super hard along with a bunch of other homies getting bangers. Hyped for this year.

Yeah that movie was so good. I don't know why but when McChesney segment started I was like, that's the ender, I forgot about Karl and then his segment starts and it totally blew my mind, that guy definitely knows how to ski

This is interesting to hear. I can say that not too many people were impressed at the UVM premier. General consensus was the soundtrack was very bland. I know the rap and thug era is declining, but that is something I always enjoyed seeing in the 4bi9 edits and movies. The skiing was great, hated the soundtrack. Everyone has different opinions though so I hope everyone else enjoys it more than I did. I know this is going to get many down votes.

most entertaining movie since TBC. everyone of those kids, skiers and filmers put an unreal amount of effort into that whole movie.

ill either get it on DVD or Itunes depending on whats available next time i check. so stoked for this!

One of the best movies of the season. Soundtrack was dope. Got a different vibe from it but it was really refreshing and got me super stoked for the season. Everyone killed it!!

No, eheath. He saw the shots but he thought he'd ask anyway but faking everyone out by making it seem like he didn't see any shots of him.

Everyone should buy this movie. The 4bi9 guys were on a whole new level last season and All Damn Day is my favorite flick from this fall. The skiing, production, and overall creativity is just spot on. It definitely got me beyond stoked to ski. Support these dudes!!

was there much pow/backcountry not including booters? I have noticed that after gunnie season 4bi9 has really been focusing less and less on other aspects of skiing besides urban. Regardless I will check it out anyways, I always love the shit you guys put out every year. Is there a digi download available yet?

I'm downloading it now (iTunes link above) so I'm not sure, but from what I've heard the guys spent a ton of time in the Utah BC, however I'm not sure if it's just booters (crazy ones at that) or if there's actual pow skiing.

that being said,

Easily my favorite 4bi9 movie to date.

Soundtrack killllled it

only thing that felt out of place was the tom/nicky public park segment

Favorite movie of the year! Best vibes to it. The whole time I just felt like damn I need to be out skiing right now!

Well that was fucking rad. Some hot riders throwing down big time. Props to everyone, one of the best flicks of the year. Really dug the mellow-er soundtrack too, added a nice flow to the movie.

A+ go buy

Seriously, that was perfection.

*Warning the following may contain spoilers*

Ware's part was incredible and I was thinking why is this opener and not ender, then Velvet Underground comes on and I'm thinking "this has to be Karl's part...and it's got some big shoes to fill" cause that song instantly makes me think of Tom Penny and Arto Saari from Flip's Sorry and he fucking delivered. Some great powder shots and just him clearly having a fun time leading into the frustration of urban (and then the constant transitions between the two)...it told a story.

The whole movie is just epic, the people who miss the powder segments from older 4bi9 won't be upset, Wachs, Collins and Barns got you covered, the people who love the gnarly urban won't be disappointed (it's what 4bi9 does), and the people who want to be told a story while they watch will enjoy the way the good times are mixed with the rough times.

*End spoilers*

Stop reading, go buy it!
