Hats For Haiti

So I make hats (beanies, flop hats, tam hats, face masks, baby hats)

and I am also part of a group that is raising money to build a trade

school in Haiti.

Haiti Info - As you all know, Haiti was struck with a massive earth

quake. This earthquake has destroyed the little that they already had.

Their homes, businesses, churches, schools, etc. have been either

knocked to the ground or are unsafe (there are obviously exceptions). The other day learned from a guest speaker that one school was demolished by

the earthquake and killed 900 students. That is just a miniscule

amount of information concerning the disaster.

Now, about what can be done to help. A teacher at my high

school (WHS in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada) has started a project

that will raise money and build a trade school in Haiti. This project

has government support, support from the Rotary Club and, I assume,

support from various independent organizations. The estimated cost of

building this school is $70 000 and with a cost that large, every dollar

is going to count.

Right now I have one pre-made hat that was made for a girl on another forum but she dropped out of the sale. It is a tam hat with swirling rasta colours.

I can also make custom hats with any design I am capable of making or I can reproduce a previously made design. Pricing will be $12+ship for flop, $15+ship for tam and face mask/balaclava with ALL profits going to Haiti

To buddy that asked about how much goes to Haiti, as previously stated by me and a keen reader, all profits will go to the Haiti group I am a part of. So, if I already have the necessary yarn to make someone a hat, all money will go to Haiti (aside from shipping) but if I have to buy yarn then whatever the yarn costs will come out of the selling price to pay for it then the profits will go to Haiti. (e.g., I buy 2 balls of yarn for $8 and sell for 15. 8 pays for yarn and 7 goes to Haiti but that yarn will make much more than one hat so profits should average above $7)

Just learned/figured out how to make fingerless/hobo gloves so those are available for making as well. Price would be between $10 and $15.

There is also a picture of a new hat I made for friend in the photobucket album in my second post

new product bump. I now offer hemp necklaces/bracelets with custom, handmaid copper wire pendants or (when I get them) sea shells. Here is a picture of an 18" necklace I made with a dolphin pendant.

$10 ? If you don't think that's a fair price then make an offer. The dolphin one isn't for sale but I could make you something you wanted with either beads, a handmaid pendant or shells (won't have these for about a month).
