Hey NS i am kinda wondering why for the first couple years while a big name pro is coming up in the
game everyone loves them but once they reach a point of success everyone starts to hate on them.
Is it because people believe they aren't being true to their roots or is it just the attitude they develop

EX: Tanner Hall
Simon Dumont
Shawn White

but really , not alot of people hate on tanner , saying that there definatly are some and his recent video about skiing in real mounatins hasnt helped. and the rollderblade thread from 5 years ago.

but shaun white is just annoying because olypic/ xgames announcers never shut up about him
 
I agree with shawn white.. everyone hates the best and all that shit.. but i've never understood hate on Simon he is a sick skiier and always seems chill as fuck.. so where did hate on him originate.
 
popularity. more people that know who you are, the higher the chance that at least one of them isn't a fan.
 
I think the hate on Tanner is mostly because of the things he's said, for example his video that made a short appearance on the internet talking about how park skiing isn't real skiing, and Candide was doing REAL skiing on REAL mountains. Other than that, I think Tanner's a pretty sick skier, but thats just my opinion
 
i feel like some of it is jealousy for Simon Dumont but he does have a confident attitude and may not be
too inclined to talk to and autograph everyones shit thats just him.. i feel shawn white and Tanner have
been on top for soo long they truly believe i am the pinnacle of my sport and ill decide the direction it goes
 
Haha that made me like him... He finally showed a sense of humor and looked like he was having fun.

i think that i will always have the most love for people who have not gotten what they deserve from the ski industry like vanular
 
wait are you saying simon doesnt like to autograph stuff. he autographed my pipe cleaners and had a nice chat with me. such a chill dude.
 
Tom is a case-in-point.

When he was a park rat churning out edits with them 4bi9s, everyone loved him.

Now, whenever someone says a positive word about him, they are greeted with the original and hilarious 'gargle, gargle' response.

Simon is super chill. At Freeze he took time out of practice to chat with kids, take photos, etc. The irony is, people hate on him because (up until now) he didn't have dub corks in his trick bag, but the same people are the ones hating all over the dub trend.

And Tanner gets hated on because he brings it on himself with the stupid shit that he says.
 
Its the same case with Tom Wal people are saying he's lost all his steeze and he is all comp skier now
maybe i cant tell the difference but hating on Simon for not wanting to change his Flawless corks is wrong
