I think it's a taste thing. I ride Kartel 116's every day of the year, and they just feel like no other ski. I personally think Armadas feel unsubstantial, edgy, and not terribly fun. But thats the beauty of the industry, its all down to what works for you, what feels good under your feet.

I know being a Newschoolers we are supposed to have this profound connection and only reccomend on3ps but the more I ski them I realize how big of shit they are, brands like atomic , rossignol shit even armada all make much higher quality ski imo. Inb4 only support small local brands hell no.

Not terrible skis I just couldn’t imagine going over 45 mph on them bitches sketchy, I may be more used to a stable ski that’s not a sketchy piece . Even the rossignol experience 100s I instruct on skis much better and I hate directional skis

I've personally been to a shop tour of on3p and unlike other ski companies they do an in depth ski check before shipped or someone buys. Compared to other brands like K2 or Atomic they have a high demand and are constantly shipping orders which means the amount of time they can take to check the skis is minimal. Doesn't say much but I think on3ps have a higher rate of having minimal to no flaws than a high demand brand.

I fully agree but when i bought my skis I needed them that week for a trip so I couldn't wait for a custom kartel 96 to get a 191 but this summer I'll hopefully find some money for custom 191 kartels with extra carbon. But for some reason the industry doesn't really make many 190+ twintips under 100mm waist. 186 kartels are the same length as my 190 sir francis bacons tho which is money

Why is this? Why are 100 and under skis usually only available is shorter lengths?

I have some Redster's and 25 other pairs of skis.

The OP Troll probably has no idea how to tune a ski, let alone ski.

All skis are different, and no ski is great until it is made so by proper tuning.

ON3P makes great ski like many others, but they all really need to be tuned before you ski them.

Some skis have better factory tunes than others, but with all, it's the luck of the draw.

One man's trash is another man's treasure.

I never heard anyone who was skiing ON3P's say they did not like them. To the contrary, the all seem to love them.

That's real world, not internet talk.

Just my experience, but I just sold my Kartel 96s so I could get two skis, arv96ul and some used line sick day 104s. The arv's are my 100% park ski and the sick days are my back country skis. The kartels were really only being used in the park and I found them a bit heavy for me, I couldn't really flex them how I wanted.

After riding the sick days I completely miss my kartels, they had the swerve, the pop, and god damn I could charge with those things. The sick days just don't inspire the confidence in me to go fast like I used to, and they are definitely not as playful.

Hopefully next season I'll have the money to get a real bc setup, but I also really miss my kartels and would like to get a custom Magnus or jeffery. I see the jeffery is a couple hundred g's lighter than the kartels too so maybe that's the difference I needed. Anyways... the point is, ON3P, period

Kartels to sick days... a true tragedy. Prayers to you and your family

I appreciate the sentiment. My first time riding them was my first time in the bc too. After a nice hour hike up in baker I frustratedly ripped my daymakers off, got ready to go, and started my decent. I'd say within the first... I'll be generous and say 30 seconds, I knew I made a mistake.

i’m referencing these skis to suggest that he’s the collegiate racer type, not to insult the skis themselves.

it’s all a joke seeing as i support ski racing and plenty of my friends race.

I have no answers only problems. Probably not a whole lot of people buying long skis that are narrower tho

Truth. I have had some interaction with ON3P guys and was impressed with the quality they put forth.

The guys are core and really care about what they are producing.

The fact that they have been successful as a small maker says a lot about what an awesome job they are doing.

Keep up the good work ON3P!

Armada vs ON3P right here.

Not enough Clydesdales like you buy skis from indies and you are rare in general.

I love my billy goats more and more. Like holy shit. They makes mashed potatoes feel like a groomer.. you do have to work em. As they are a huge ski. But my fuck. What a tool .. what a gift. I'm gonna buy a pair of all MTN ones for next season.

Im not sure what you're on about mang, my kartel 116's hold a decent edge and charge hard. Super stable, super well balanced, and they just soak up impact. Maybe try riding them?

Yeah got a chance to ride my kartel 108's once on a spring day before everything shut down and while I do like my wrens 96 so so so much more, the kartels hold an edge quite well. Can definitely carve. Actually set the carve so hard on one turn I almost wiped out it was so bouncy and explosive coming out of the turn. Definitely a different stance is required, but they're good fucking skis for sure.
