Ok get this I was at the ski swap Friday and I sort on need new boots so i found some Salomon 1080 for $170.00 and they were last years boot brand new while they were the right size and I have all the money but my dad is being a Jackass he does not want me to freestyle he wants me to race so he will not buy me any freeride stuff at all. are your parents like that

btw, is this $170 money you actually earned working or is it like bday gift money....if you earned it all then your dad is a worthless piece of shit but if it's just gift money from relatives that's a little different......my parents made me start a bank account when i was 6 and put all my bday gift money in there.....by the time i turned 16 i had $1300 to buy a car with.....but if you're dad wants you to become a racer so bad that he will only let you spend that money on race gear then fuck him.....save your money, buy the gear YOU want, ski park during race practice, and do you competition runs switch.....he'll get the point

besides, if he's a true ski dad he should be far more concerned that you're having fun than if you're racing just to please him

my dad is one of the truest ski bums i've ever known, my mom, however, wanted me to pay for a plane ticket to hawaii to go see her instead of buying a ski pass this winter. maybe that's why they've been divorced for 20 years

I enjoy racing and everything like after practice it is nice to go in the park and rip for awhile but he is pissing me off it even comes down to Mountain Biking i like Urban and Downhill but he wont buy me anything expect XC crap so maybe i should start asking for all the top of the line crap make him dish out the money and be a ass.

urban mountain biking = street riding. It sounds like your dad is a spandex wearing pansy. all you have to do is not race. like just tell him you dont like it and dont enjoy it. if hes that much of an unsupportive asshole that he makes you race then just simply dont do it. he cant push you down the race course. maybe he will eventually learn.

get a job and save money unless your not old enough then wait three years or however until your old enough and get a job. IF hes just doing it because he wanted to be an ass thats wrong but it sounds like he wants you to have a sucessful future and the point is if your really good at racing hes concerned giving that up will have an adverse effect on your future. if thats the case then save buy the stuff and make him appreciate that racing not what your into anymore. But be careful there is not alot of money in freestyle or not quite as much as there is in racing. Dont rebell, rebelling just causes pain then pain leads to anger and anger leads to you getting your ass kicked out of the house
