Hate Between Skiers and Snowboarders?

is it still there? cuz honestly most of my friends that i ride with are skiers, and im a snowboarder.

my roommates are all skiers, and im a snowboarder.

i guess for some people its different.

but for me...there is no hate between skiers and snowboarders.
 
I hang with boarders all the time... mostly because the park I work in is over run with them and there are just a few skiers. There isn't really any hate at all around there unless there are some gapers standing on the landings or something... however this weekend there were some little squeaky voice 10 year old boarders yelling at us for hiking the rails and said "skiers get out of here, this is a snowboard park". Then I just about skinned him

I dont mind the hate sometimes though when it comes from the boarders because about 99% of the time your better than them.
 
Only with Danny Kasshole and Burton.

I always view this as like rival sports teams, you have to rag on each other but when it comes down to it most don't truly care.
 
I snowboard and most of my buddies ski. In my opinion, skiing and snowboarding have nothing but snow in common. When you fall on skis, you fall 10 times harder with all the equipment, and I can't do half the crap that skiers do on my board. No beef with the skis
 
not to claim but pretty much everytime i do a trick that was good its usually a boarder giving me props, besides from my friends

and i ski mountain creek where its 90% boarders

where i ride in north van and whistler there is little to no hate between skiers and snowboarders, any hate that exists is from weekend warriors, or towards them.
 
i always ride with snowboarders, this season ive seen some pretty faggy boarders tho.2 different times ive seen this crew of kids they have started shit with some one, stole the tube everyone was hitting, and i actualy saw one throw this like 6 year old chinese gaper kid that fell in the landing like 10 feet at boreal no lie baha
 
i hate when a large pack of snowboarders either camp out in the landing or the in run of a feature and they just stare at you, and most of the time they cant even hit the feature they are blocking they just stand there for street credit i guess
 
i ride with a lot of snowbaorders and they admitted to me that they think skiing is more fun to watch but they ride snowboards cuz its more fun
 
YA most snowboarders arnt really that bad ive noticed that skiers rag on boarders more than boarders rag on skiers but o'well skiers are better antway
 
I think when it comes down to it people who are really involed in the sport thrive off of it because of just seeing other people up there on the snow.

only gapers hate. real boarders and skiers don't give a fuck whether you ride one plank or two, as long as you're having fun.

the thing with my mountain is that it is ENTIRELY gapers.

who think skiing is dumb and they constantly piss around with skiers.

i hate my hill so much

i was skiing the park and i was the best skier there. cause i was almost the only one on twins. this gaper with rossi sprayers would corner a few jumps every once in a while. there were no less than 5 snoller bladers lapping the park and doing dumb little grabs.

beeing outnumbered by snoller bladers blows...hard.

it all depends on who it is really... its not a snowboard skier thing, its a if your a dick and a bed person, i wont like you
 
i think it was more present at the beginning.

i mean, when the freeski was really really underground

but there is still some haters. for my part, i'm not a snowboard hater, but never i would stop skiing for snowboard
 
skier or boarder, we're all out there just trying to have a fun time. as long as no one tries to stop that, let there be peace
some stupid ass boarder did cut me off this weekend.... not.cool.
 
At my hill it is like Skiers + boarders vs. Snowlerblade gapers. It seems like every 20 minutes or so a wave of gapers comes through the park to corner jumps without hitting the feature. My only problem with boarders really is that they will sit on a rusty rail to strap in just to keep from getting their ass wet when I am trying to hit the rail. I remember strapping in standing up when I boarded so why can't most of them do the same. At the end of teh day its all about having fun really.
 
no hate... i ski with boarders all the time... i think its funny tho why would we get mad at someone who is so close to us... why don't we get mad at water polo guys... or bowling guys... seriously it doesn't make sense to hate.
 
haha what a bunch of downies, if anyone sat on a feature skier or boarder I'd tell them to fuck off and if they didn't I'd just hit and watch them flail away or I'd just run my board right into them, simple solutions for simple people =D
 
I think its still kinda there. But not cause they're snowboarders, just some of them are douches.. It's not only snowboarders though, there's skiers like that too. Like that eheath fuck.............
 
ALL of the kids i go up to the mountain with are boarders except one..but he actually is pretty gay. no hate though, unless were just joking around
 
i snowboard and ski, and there are some snowboarders from my school that i cant stand, and also some skiers, but to me what a person rides has nothing to do with it, its how that person rides it. IF they're on of THOSE snowboarders then i cant stand 'em and the same with skiers, if they are all cocky and they take too much pride in their sport then it gets excessively annoying
 
all REAL snowboarders AND skiers realize that we are just out there trying to have fun, and thats all that matters. at my hill almost all of the snowboarders accept me and the couple other skiers and they love watching us ski.
 
i dont notice any hate between skiers and boarders on the north shore aside from the friendly banter between them. noticing alot of hate in the park towards peeps that drop in rite after you and cut you off harsh or train you. but the deserve it along with the tourists that think its a really cool run or the mini ski racers thinking that their cocky asses are good in the park.
 
I know this is off topic but speaking of snowblades. A 11-12 year old kid walks in to the shop with his friend and his friend syas "look at the freestyle skis." The other kid says "Dude, those are gay I want trick skis" and he picked up a pair of snowblades and I just turned around and laughed. Anyways My mountain has a bunch of gaper snowboarders. They have the nicest shit and then they just suck balls. We got a new hip and it's the best jump we have (Fuck Sierra Summit's new park manager), even though it isn't that big (or built right, needs a steeper lip). So some snowboarder straight airs it and boardslides down the icy landing and at the bottom sits on his ass. I knew it was my last run and I rolled over it (so I wouldn't hit him) and then his fucking friend decides to sit down next to him! At this point I'm like WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!! So being I wouldn't get to hit it for another week. I rolled up behind him cussed his ass out so he stands up and wants to fight. I just skied off and held my middle finger high. He thought he was going to be all tough and chase me. So then I slowed down. He got inches from me and I Chinese downhilled out of there pressing my poles in the ground kicking up as much snow as I could, he was fucking pissed. I taught him though. Wow I wrote too much. Oh well.
 
This is the truth. Most good boarders have respect if you ca nthrow down and prove you arent some gaper jackass.
 
yes, but this can actually be compared to racism in america. It's not as bad as it used to be but there still is a real tension. I mean why do you think some places like, Mad River Glen, Alta, and Deer Valley do not allow snowboarding? maybe it's because they have their own prejudices like everyone does. I remember last year I was at Alta, and the guy I talked to said" Yeah, at Alta there's no snowboarders, and that's the way it should be" I kind of wanted to agree with him, but there was also a side of that was like "not really". anyway, yes it does still exist, but I try to not hate wherever i ski, but like they said, it's usually the gapers that hate, and I dont want to be like them so i dont hate.
 
i only feel hate towards boarders who scrape all the fucking snow in the park and who dont even do the jumps. other than that, i respect the good ones.

i have never had hate for a snowboarder, my favorite person to shred with is a snowboarder. I bounce my style off his and vice a versa.
 
the same thing happened at my shop.

a kid came in and asked for trick skis.

i showed him some scratchs fs and he was like "i mean the snowblade kind."
