Hat under helmet

yeah thats what i did so i could wear my crocheted hat under my 9 mx, u take out all the padding/velco, and the earpads
 
its such a funny looking style, I never understood it. looks like a spaceball with the helmet riding up so high.
 
yea.. lets buy a helmet thats suppose to protect our heads and prevent concusions.. then take all the safety features out just so we can put a silly hat underneath it all..
 
i agree, taking the foam out defeats the purpose of a helmet, you might as well not bother wearing one, it's got way more style anyways.
 
i think people are talking about 2 dif kinds of hats... crocheted HEADBANDS work the best under a helmet, with long dangalies... a baseball hat can be sick i guess... either way, just rock the style you like... i agree with you ^

hahah, they aren't taking out the protective foam in the helmets, they take out the thin little pads that are glued/velcroed to the inside of your helmet and make it fit snugly, this doesn't change anything about how effective at protecting your head the helmet is. unless wearing a hat makes the helmet fit badly, then that's making it less effective.
 
Im not sure about skateboard helmets but its funny shit when I see kids wear bicycle helmets.
 
wouldnt it be hard to take the foam out? with no foam, the helmet is like a piece of plastic. just buy a larger helmet, and take the padding out. hat=padding, unless your corey vanular and u wear a fitted hat under it. ttried it, and the little bolt at the top of the hat kills ur head
 
oh man bike helmets are the best. They defintely wouldnt do anything unless you fell directly on top of your head. Normally along with bike helmets are jeans tucked into boots
 
Well I got a gift certificate to MILO and I got a R.E.D trace and they look siick with hats under them, also they didnt have my size so i bought the perfect het to go underneath. It is soooo sick then I put my goggles under my helmet over my hat. Perfect fit perfect comfotabilityand its siick.
 
I'd personally rather just not wear a hat. Like do you wear a knit hat under a baseball hat? It doesn't make sense. My head has never been cold in just my helmet even in subzero weather, and i wouldn't want more unnecessary bulk on my head
 
actually if you wear a hat under your helmet your essentially cancelling otu the protection given to you by the helmet. if you hit your head with a hat under your helmet it is a double impact. there is always a very slight space between the hat and helmet. So when you hit your head your hat hits the helmet and then your helmet hits the ground. so its pretty mcuh pointless.
