and would a 1.6 turion with 1.25Ram and 128 shared video handle it aight?

the 1.6 gig will be a little slow. vista is designed to run with a dual core. you have plenty of ram. Basically 1 gig to vista is what 512 is to xp

No It will run like shit, and no it's not out.

I'm running the beta and on a AMD Athlon 3400+ 2.2ghz w/ 1gig ram and 128mb car it's laggy deff need dual core and 256+ pci-ev video cards and atleast 1gig of ram.

It depends on the turion proccessor. If it's an x2 then it's a dual core and will run just fine. The comparison of 512 to xp is probably pretty accurate. but none of us really know though.

not what i've read.. min sys requirements are less than those for XP.

A Windows Vista Capable PC includes at least:

* A modern processor (at least 800MHz).

* 512 MB of system memory.

* A graphics processor that is DirectX 9 capable.

A Windows Vista Premium Ready PC includes at least:

* 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor.

* 1 GB of system memory.

* Support for DirectX 9 graphics with a WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum), Pixel Shader 2.0 and 32 bits per pixel.

* 40 GB of hard drive capacity with 15 GB free space.

* DVD-ROM Drive.

* Audio output capability.

* Internet access capability.

What the hell am i supposed to do with leporard?

Jerk off in the cd case and send it back to apple...thats about it.

it's not beta anymore. vista was just rtm'ed (released to manufacturer) so developers can prepare for it before it's officially launched late january.

turion is 64 bit.. that should be fine, but graphics card is going to be the big question mark.. besides the desire to jerk off on an big cat

who cares? y if you own a mac would you ever want to run windows? "its got software that i cant get... blah blah blah." theres no need.

it's definitely not just a prettier version of xp. i don't really know the details, but there are significant changes under the hood. for one, it's not even based on xp. the source code is based off windows server 2003.
