Has It Gone Full Circle?

It seems quite apparent that our sport is about to experience a meteoric jump in growth/popularity/mainstream acceptance, much like snowboarding in 1998. E-Dollo, Nick, Gus, and the rest of the free skiing field have managed to portray skiing as a more creative, fun, and laid back sport than snowboarding- inherent qualities in snowboarding that has fueled its growth until to today.

In 10 years from now, I'm sure we will recognize "Wu Tang is For The Children" was a watershed moment in the history of our sport .

feel free to call me out in 2024, but I'm not so sure about that last part. a monumental moment for the sport none the less, especially in that its been such a positive public debut. fuggin stoked

As long as skiers keep bringing the new creativity and uniqueness, we should still be "popular". That's the only thing about snowboarding lately is it's sort of blended in to one, most tricks look the same, while skiing keeps the uniqueness up with different grabs, axis's, and styles.

Considering skiers are still vibing off boarders for tricks not really.

But really I just hate things like this.

" skiing as a more creative, fun, and laid back sport than snowboarding"

it does have an “I broke my ankles” ring to it.

Also, calling it first. Hollywood makes ski party movie featuring dreadlocked extreme skier that says stupid shit like excellent, rad, and noooo way (cali style)

even though a lot of us weren't physically there during the comp, we were all a part of something huge nonetheless. I'm definitely gonna look back on this 20 years from now, and smile.

nope. come back at me in 2030, but this sport wont be cool and it all started at the olympics.

whats wrong with the Xgames?

Yeah man, if someone asked me a year ago if I snowboard and I said "no I freeski" nobody gave a fuck, now people get stoked and start asking a bunch of questions about it. Fucking awesome
