Has *insert song* already been put in a movie?

for y’all making edits to ask if a particular song u wanna put in a part is safe to put in an edit so u don’t copy over another homie.

think of this as a database
 
This is cool but, i feel that “stealing” songs doesn’t really matter. Like if you are getting pressed that someone used the same song as you that’s kinda wack not gonna lie. On the other hand if YOU are actively trying to be unique then this is helpful, just don’t stress it that much.. i say just pick the song you want and if someone else has used it… oh no!
 
idk but i’d like to see an edit with multiple riders to ‘who dat boy’ by tyler the creator and a$ap rocky
 
been thinking about making a website like this, with a search bar and way to submit a song with the edit attached. But I’ve been so busy

yes it very much does matter in my humble opinion. Knowingly stealing songs is wack, unknowingly stealing songs is unfortunate. Always a good idea to run your video past some people to avoid that.

On the one hand, there's a lot of ski videos out there from the last 20+ years, so it's kind of inevitable that if you're eventually going to unknowingly use a song that's been used. At the same time, no one should be using songs from well-known videos. Like it would be ridiculous if someone used a song from zootspace or slumdog illionaire.

If I see an ABD song in an insta edit I don't really care as long as it's not trending audio (which I can't stand.) Or if it's some random kid making an edit. But when it comes to more serious videos from established editors you should definitely not be using ABD songs. Like I love Eppern's stuff but editors should do their due diligence and not use songs from strobeck videos for example, seeing as they have millions of views and are super influential.

I see what you’re saying and i agree that in the higher quality and larger productions that it has at least some reason to matter. However, even then i think it’s still silly to get pressed about it. Other than the fact that some other edit used it first, is there any other claim to a song? It’s kinda like when you were a kid and at recess the most popular guy got the best ball first cause he was the first to get there, and he won’t share. There’s no reason that he should get to hog something like that, no matter how poplar he is. especially in skiing, where it’s really about having fun and doing cool shit.

and don’t get me wrong if you don’t want to “play with the ball” that is totally fine. However, i don’t think it’s anywhere near reasonable to get made at other people who do
