Has EA Skate put the Tony Hawk games out of business?

Its apparent that EA Skate is way better than Tony Hawk series. I tried to play Tony Hawk Project 8 the other day when i left skate at my dads house and i just couldnt do it. EA is releasing Skate 2 in 2009, do you think Tony Hawk will ever make another?

tony hawk didnt even try with project 8. last good tony hawk game was thug one. the others where attempts to get more money from a dead series.

Seriously I was a die hard THPS fan... but after I bought SKATE, I can tell you I'm never going back to tony hawk. I've tried the latest thps games, but EA skate makes them look like shit.

They are nowhere near the same leaugue. I love skating games and I have PS2 so I had to buy Proving Ground. Its actually out of this world how much better skate is. Playing Skate when you are ripped out of your tree is one of my top 5 favourite things to do, hands down

Anyone want to go for an online session soon? Skate ofc. And i pulled off a ciffin backflip on the mega ramp, stayed coffin from the top all the way to the landing and stood up for the qauter and stonmped a 720 double kickflip.

I would bet that Proving Ground sold better than skate. did even though skate. is a better game. You guys seriously underestimate the marketing power of Tony Hawk. However, I'm sure it was a huge wakeup call to Activision and hopefully it sparks some innovation in the stale and ridiculous Tony Hawk series. (I did think Project 8 was the best of all of them though)
