ok so we all know the dilemma when it comes to skier's thumb. either you hold your pole uncomfortably and stick your hand up through the strap and wrap your hand around it along with the grip, or you stick your hand down through the strap and hold the pole comfortably, but you get skier's thumb. well this morning i was pondering and i thought, why not have poles like this? i dont know if this will work, but it was a thought

it was done on a mousepad, so its crappy

or just don't have your strap super tight?

My thumb never hurts or anything?

It just feels like im holding the pole with no starp around my wrist.

but what happens when you wanna use your poles by putting your palm on top of your pole to push yourself around or pole butter or even tip stand. seems like that would be an issue

my poles are rediculously comfy to hold and also very convenient. ill explain.

ok so bascially i hold them the apparent "correct" way so when you fall you dont break your thumb. what you do is put your hand through the strap outwards, then your whole hand on top of the strap so the strap goes in between your thumb and palm, im sure most people do but some people do it the way where the strap goes on top of thumb and that can break it.

the reason this is convienient is because you can push down on the straps to go, the top of the pole, hold your hands losely and have them just follow while still on your hands.

and ahead of time i know people will be like "FUCKING IDIOT WE ALL DO THAT"...i see alot of people doing it wrong with thumbs waiting to get broken...so keep it to yourself.

Don't wear a strap. Collect your poles like a man. Never worry about it. Hell, I cut the straps of my poles off. I have another pair with straps for the one real powder day we get on the EC a year.

i usually don't ski with pole straps because in the trees when i get my poles caught and i have the straps on it feels like they're gonna rip my arms off but i think this could work
