Whats up... I live in Snowshoe Mountain West Virginia right now. Im moving to Utah next fall and I'm gonna go to U.U. I'll be living in Sandy,Utah which is 18 miles form Salt Lake City and 13 From Alta/Snowbird(sounds like a good compromise to me) . I'm trying to figure out which mountain I should buy a season pass at. I'm gonna need sick terrain(cliffs n stuff I wanna try those), Sick park, Sick pow and sick skriders. Price isn't nessisarily a issue. And also how hard is it to build backcountry booters out of your snow? I've never skied in Utah before but the pictures I've seen it looks pretty tight. How bad is the cost of Living there. The only Apartments I could find on the internet were 600/mo$. Please tell me anything pertinent to Utah skiing and living please.---Thanks

living in salt lake is pretty cheap actually, youre living in sandy though so that will cost a bit more just on the location of being so close to ski resorts. If you live in sandy you defiantley need a pass to alta or snowbird, dont bother with brighton or solitude at all they suck. If you want the best park id go to park city for sure or maybe canyons they are decent. Snowbird has a decent park too but there pipe is always shit although they are improving their park every year. Alta doesnt have a park but has better skiing in my opinino then snowbird, doesnt quite have the vert of snowbird but the snow is so much nicer and doesnt get tracked out as quickly as at the bird. Kickers are easy to build here, we hiked up grizzley the other day which is like a 20 minute hike and its literally like a natural terrain park there are soooo many sick places to build jumps everywhere its unreal, avalanches are bad here so id suggest taking an avalanche class at U of U like i did im a student too. uhh anything else youd like to know?

Everything that D-Spin said is correct. You can get a student pass to any of those resorts (Alta, the bird, or PC) for about $400.

go to snowbird, alta, for powder, solitude for slow lifts but no lines, pc for a good park....and canyons for competing

You really cant lose here bro unless you go to like sundance or something. Alta and Snowbird arent legends in skiing for nothing. I started skiing at alta when I was 2 and every year of my life I have been there. Pick up a pass there quick. What part of Sandy are you moving to?

yeah totally get a pass to snowbird/alta. you wont regret it. and since i live in park city, i do have to say that the park here kicks ass. good shit. but you can also get some nice pow up in jup/scotts bowl. you can also hike hour glass and pinecone. no cliffs tho. sorry.
