Go and buy some doctor scholls arch supports, put them in all the footwear that you have, daily shoes work boots, whatever you wear on a regular basis, no need to put them in your ski boots, this fixed my shin bang in two weeks about ten years ago, never had it since, not even a trace of it.  They're ten bucks a piece so it's a cheap option, my doctor told me it was from poor support in my daily shoes and told me this would cure it.
