Has anybody heard anything about a new ipod touch?

Ok, I'm planning on taking a trip across Canada this August so obviously my 1 gig first gen ipod nano isn't going to cut it. I've been wanting to get an itouch for a while, but they always seem to come out with a new gen itouch every September. So I'm going to be mega pissed if they come out with a new generation similar to the iphone 4 a month after I buy the current one, but I don't want to drive to the west coast and back with only 170 songs.
Long story short: Can anyone confirm that there's going to be a new ipod touch worth waiting until September for?

apple is very secretive about this stuff. the new iphone 4 was the only thing that was leaked... ever (all that i know) there is no way of knowing, unless apple wants you to know. and if they want the public to know it would be through the press. so i would google it, but i duno about an ipod touch 4.
buy a used one off a friend or craigslist. with a cracked screen = cheap prices (also a good reason to ask for such low $)

Drop like $30 for a shitty old iPod, touches will be more expensive. Then just buy the new one when it comes out, because no doubt Apple's gonna come in like they always do and release it in like September

I'd be willing to bet on a new iPod touch coming out in september like they do every year. Rumor has it that it will have a camera... I'd wait
 
Why do I not believe that..

and why would Apple go against their original design and put the camera in the middle instead of in the corner?

Haha very likely, although foxconn (one of apples main manufacturers) is located their, so their is a legitimate chance it's real...
 
Sorry for the triple post, but the fact that it was connected to iTunes in that video is also promising...
 
if they were to make a new one. it woul dhave the retina display. possibly a camera and tht makes sense cuz why does a nano hav eit and touch doesnt. so camera, display and a faster processor for multitasking and shit. its definitely a possibility and i can see it probably resembling the iphone 4. def in september there will be one. my cousin is huge at apple and drops me hints...
 
Yes. September's iPod touch will be the biggest leap since the product's unveiling. It will get dual cameras. Front-facing and forward-facing. FaceTime is likely, since it's only available on WiFi. More storage. Up to 128GB. 1.0 GHz A4 chip. iOS 4.0 with multitasking. I'm betting on a radio tuner as well. Possibly HD Radio. I'm also calling for the death of the iPod nano and possibly the classic in favor a unified line centered around iOS. "touch" falls from the name. Now it's just "iPod". The unified product line results in three iOS devices: iPhone, iPod, iPad. I think the September event will also be iPad-centric. Perhaps some cameras, iOS 4.0 for iPad, maybe a better chip, more storage. iOS 4.0 for iPad is going to blow everything out of the water. People will wonder whether Mac OS X is still needed, because the iPad version of iOS 4.0 will look a lot like OS 10.6.
 
im an ipod touch news follower i guess... remember when the iphone was lost at a bar and someone found and sold it? samething happened with a 4g ipod WITH A CAMERA, the camera is in the centre and it looks a little different, i dont like it, but theres a fucking camera! it will come out sometime
