Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows: Part 2

Just saw it. Really sad its all over. I am SO pissed they left out Dumbledores history with the Elder Wand and his family relationship. That was crucial to the book IMO. Other than that, it was really good. Final battle was short winded but oh well. Malfoy at the end just looked dumb.
 
i watched it today. it really wasnt that great, but maybe that's because i havent followed the series and i havent seen/read all the stories. never really got the hype about harry potter. there were 20 year old men crying when the movie finished today haha
 
totally agree about dumbledore. he just appears cruel in the movies, they never clear his name like they do in the books.
 
I cried when Snape died and Harry saw his memories. He was the only good, decent, wholesome person in that entire story.

Saw it last evening before going out, way less epic then I thought it would be. The Battle sequence at castle/bridge and such were far too short and unclear.

Ahwell not going to do a massive revew bit I was dissapointed.

Best part of the evening was my friend, he is rather tall and has the exact voice that snape has and his girlfriend is one of those people who do make-up for theatres with silicone and stuff so she made him look exactly like snape, at the movie theatre he scared little children so badly.
 
there really just trying to milk the money out of hp imo i mean the kids is the perfect way to continue the series that brings them in so much money but that imo
 
Yup. I was waiting THE WHOLE MOVIE for them to somehow through it in. Never came. Really made Dumbledores family relationship/coming to control the Elder wand confusing if you did not read the books. I also thought it would make a sick scene.
 
Wait, are you trying to tell me that Harry Potter isn't an NGO? And its main objective is to maximize profitability? What?
 
yeah what the hell?...they mention grindlewald as harry sees him in his dreams...but they don't tell any of the story about him and how him and dumbledore had the epic battle.
 
Pretty good, I hope they release 7.1 & 7.2 as one dvd eventually, cause the whole 7.2 movie seemed essentially like 2 scenes. It was good though, except when he killed Voldemort at the end, that could have been better, and yeah they left some stuff out, but what can you do.
 
A couple more comments after my second viewing:-including voldemort's death they could have put more emphasis on Fred & Lupin's death, they just kinda showed they died and didn't address it.

-Harry was supposed to fix his wand with the elder, but no he just was a dumbass and broke it without fixing his wand.

-I couldn't see harry's scar.

-George's ear was perfectly fine.

 
No gringotts was done well. Minus trevor. but thats fine. The only problems were kings cross because they forgot dumbledores history, but the movie never really concentrated on that so i understand. I agree with the final battle though it was done perfectly in the book not so perfect in the movie. He took a tour of hogwarts on voldemorts back? HUH? But i did love how they changed harry getting introduced into Hogwarts when he walked out and was like It seems you have a security problem headmaster. And i was hooooo snap!
 
I highly doubt Harry could simply break the Elder Wand with his bare hands, it being the most powerful wand in the world.

They should have kept the Battle of Hogwarts exactly how it is in the book. For example, Snape and Mcgonagalls duel (with Snape using the armor to protect him, that would have been so cool)
 
2 crucial things were wrong for me harrys death and voldies death. I cant remember how it happened in the boook but i expected to be close to tears at harrys death and overjoyed at voldies.

It was weak, they didnt really play up the sacrifice and the love of harrys death and though his parents said theyd be there they werent which was crucial!!!!!

Then volds death was just easy!!!! the same shity green vs read tug of war is so over played they cant have a decent battle.

It all just seemed easy and im thoroughly dissapointed i know this is arrogant but i think as director even I could have done better... seriously weak movie which i still enjoyed somehow but cheated.
 
These same things bothered me so much, especially the not fixing the wand part...so stupid thatthey cut that out.
 
when they went under the waterfall and fell off the cart and stopped right before they hit the ground you had a good 3 seconds of awesome cleavage
 
In teh book he sneeks up to ravenclaw tower to look for the diadem under the invisibility cloak. the carrows catch him but he and luna stun them and meet McGonagall who rallys the teachers and fights snape who the "does a bunk". And i totally agree we didnt get the point that voldemort couldnt hurt harrys friends that his spells werent holding because harry sacrificed himself in love.
 
I dont think they even had harrys original wand in that movie? I forget in the book if in that half he used it much but you would think it would have come up..
 
great movie. The whole theater applauded when belatrix was killed and laughed at malfoy when he had facial hair.
 
his wand broke in part one, and in the book, he fixes it with the elder wand (something that can only be accomplished with a very powerful wand). But in the movie, he decides to just fucking break the elder wand, leaving him with two broken wands instead of two awesome ones (like in the book)

^^^James isIf you watch in the movie you will hear that Snape keeps saying that Harry is arrogant like his father
 
pretty good movie overall...but truth be told, i barely remember the book since i finished it 4 years ago, so huge chunks could have been missing and i wouldn't realize. I'll have to reread.

i did notice at the very end though....

Harry, Ron, Ginny, and Malfoy all clearly age 19 years.

Hermione? Hasn't aged a day.
 
Well I was baked out of my mind... I need to see it again. I saw it at a drive-in and what an experience! I loved it... I liked the stuff they added and thought the effects were great! It was so thought provoking. It also had a phenomenal soundtrack.
 
It was fucking great. No question. I have read every single book except for the seventh. Currently doing that now.

I actually stepped out because I was feeling sick. It was pretty late into the movie, but I only thought I would be out for a sec. It turns out I missed the entire Voldemort/Harry fight scene. Words don't describe how pissed I was.
 
Now that it is all over, does anyone else agree that Richard Harris was a better Dumbledore than Michael Gambon? I mean, I like Gambon, but I really wish Harris hadn't died :(
 
was dope, best hp movie IMO

They could have made the Gringotts scene more epic tho, and they skipped the whole Dumbledore family story

but still, pretty solid
 
I personally think they were both great, but I like Gambon better, I feel like Harris wasnt lively enough.
 
I think that Harris could have been more lively with more showings. In the Sorcerer's Stone, there weren't many showings of Dumbledore anyway.
