HARDEST TRAILS!

Only seen vids, doesn't look too difficult but fun of course. Don't think you could pay me to ski at Vail itself though.

I was joking hinesyly. There's some fun spots but it's seen as some epic backcountry, pretty much riding ak lines, by some people. A lot of it is pretty low grade.

As far as Vail, Beaver Creek has better terrain imo mect door, and less people skiing the trees.

This must have been what you skied? Very epic! nothing else on YT except for the left side by the same guy.

I don’t think that’s actually it, I remember the chute being like that one section but like 5x longer, and it also starting above the tree line. I think that vid is just to skiers right of hells gate but not sure, it’s been 5 years and the trail map of that area is useless

as for getting there it’s just a quick walk over the summit from the timberline chair, there’s 2 gates off of high rigger (the traverse back to king pine) that let you in. I think the vid you posted is off the lower gate, the upper one is right where the backside slope becomes the traverse (still above the trees) but like I said haven’t seen that one open in a while

cool. yeah i searched for all the others but nothing came up, except one of adrenaline rush but that wasn't as gnarly. it interests me that it hasn't been open in so long, now i really want to ski it lol. would be fun to explore around in there.

always check the report. ski patrol doesn't always keep up and they won't drop ropes. it's possible they do this to just keep jerrys off. i was to ski the hiking trail next time i go there, and also there's some drainage between that and DJs that the alt. route may go into but you need a lot of snow fot it.

Pretty sure ive skied only skied DJ's and Kingmans with the ropes up haha

Yup when I skied Kinsman's I ducked the rope. It was in fine conditions, a little icy but nothing bad. I wonder how DJ's was. Probably pretty rocky, not a crazy amount of coverage.

I skied a blue once at deer valley, so scary hard. Or half of it at least, ski patrol was so nice they gave me a curtesy ride to the bottom because I was so scared

Blues at Deer Valley are basically Triple blacks anywhere else. Can't believe they have enough clientele to stay open.

I know right?! The people that ski there are the most hardcore though.

anyone ski rambo at crested butte? i know that's it's probably not their most difficult trail but it is the steepest cut trail in NA.

"kill the banker" at Revelstoke. Suuuuper techy and it is super long as well. Being right under the main gondola doesn't help either. The first time I skied the run it was about -30 celsius and when I finished I had to strip to my baselayer I was so hot.

never been to revelstoke but i've seen videos and imo it's way too wide. kinda ruins the feel of it. would be so cool as a thin trail. i would love to ski it though.

Can't remember the last time I found anything I've skied technically challenging but I've done stuff that was more difficult endurance wise. The Tecumseh trail in NH is basically a 6 foot wide 5 mile hiking trail. Huge leg burner and picking up speed can make it really sketchy to stop. Still pretty fun if you got short and/or rockered skis.

The wall at Holiday Valley is pretty legit

Skied it at night a few times to get to my friends condo. Not a night skiing trail so no lights and I had to use my phone flashlight.

That's epic. Haven't heard of anyone skiing that.
