Hard vs Soft?

Basically what are the advantages/disadvantages of having hard skis/soft skis?

I weigh 78kg which is a medium-slightly heavyer weight, so i'm not sure if a soft ski would still be suitable for me?

Are soft skis better for jump/park/moguls and hard skis better for all mountain? or am i wrong??? please inform me...

btw, are Salamon 1080's soft skis?

I'm interested in the Mad Trix, but alot of people dislike the stiffness, but the new 05-06 PE's apparantly are quite soft, so that might not be good either...

A soft ski is more forgiving making it easy to recover when your about to fall. However, a stif ski is more stable alowing you to ski fast and take the biggest hits. Its mostly personal preferance. If you are a laid back skier you'll want a soft ski, but if you're more of an agressive charger you'll want a stif ski.

 
I like soft, you can do more on them, except maybe powder. For a while I couldn't tell what was soft or stiff until I rode the Fujitives, haha. I like how the soft skis carve though, really smooth and with not to much effort.

 
how stiff are the scratch bc's? Will they be allright for a guy wich is 60 KG?

Depends on what you like i have both skis, and yeah the Mad Trix are quite stiff, but they are super stable on rails, and if you knwo how to use them, you can use the extra stiffness to get extra pop, but forget butters. You get less pop with the 1080s but you can butter the hell out of them, and they can save your ass in some hairy landings

Depends what youre into i love my fujatives for jibbing but i rode my friends publics for a day and theyre nasty carvers and have mad good stability

 
lets go with stiff because if you can't handle a stiff ski then your a pussy..... not sayin that people who do ride soft skis are pussys just people who bitch and moan about stiff skis

i like stiffer twins for moguls, i find that soft skis get thrown around too easy. but yea its mostly personal preference
