Actually a white college professor made up kwanza back in the 60's because black people needed a holiday. A group of people went around africa and asked the locals if they ever celebrate anything like kwanza and they had no idea what it was and they dont even celebrate anything during this time. ok so a COLLEGE PROFESSOR thought that black people nedded a holiday in 1966, he wasnt from Africa he was in the United States of America. It didnt come from Africa this college professor MADE IT UP....noone in Africa celebrates it...mmm must be really important. He added an extra "a" at the end to make it sound more important.
