well, i wouldnt suggest throwing any hand drag like the one in the video. thats a recipe for creamed shit.
Carving handdrag 5s are one of my favorite tricks off of jumps. I do a definite carve to hop to handplant, kind of like jumping into a cartwheel. I can do lazy boy 5's as well but the carves are way more fun.
Come in hotter than normal, your gonna be carving as hard as you can and also losin a little of your trajectory from the hand touch. I spin left naturally. approach the jump with the same edging as if you were to carve out a nice spin. As you wind up and your diggin in the left edges bring your right hand back behind your body, keep it low like a G. Your gonna wanna pop a little earlier than normal so you can get the hand down on the lip. When you pop, really pop off of your edges. alot of people think half assing these kinds of tricks will be easier and less frightening, but the harder you throw into it the easier its gonna come out. Pop like you are doing a lincon essentially, but keep in mind you are doing a 5. throw down that left hand onto the lip as you unwind your body from the pop, using your right hand to propel the rotation and lead you. commit. I find from here this trick feels a little like a switch front flip. thats how you should come out of it. This trick is nice becasue you can spot that landing the entire time! once your in the air, it should work out for you.
