Drawing is a lot like skiing. You have to start small and simple, and it takes a while to make it look good.
Hints I'd have - concentrate of getting the skis to look like skis. Dont worry about individual pieces of gear: my dudes are pretty much two toned scribbles. Clothing is something that just comes later, but yeah, not a bad start.
Also, when I draw these, I've now switched to drawing the jump first, then a line that will be the skiers path. Then when thats good, I put in dots to represent where the figures will go, then draw how the skis will be at each spot, regardless of the dude. Then I draw his knees, and then the rest of the body. Its easiest to go from the takeoff to the landing instead of visa versa.
