Hand drags

Hand Drags(caution this my hurt the shoulder or hip)
1) Find a good long landing the longer the better with a good sharp Knuckle.
2)Find your speed. Do a couple passes and find out how much speed you need to jump from about 5-10 feet back from the Knuckle to the middle of the landing. just high anoph to clear it. Be careful you dont go sending it to the flats.
3) Now feeling good about your speed try doing 180s over the knuckle.
4)feeling good about 180 its time to move on. Start getting lower and lower on your 180 to the point you can almost touch the knuckle as it goes by.
5)understand the trick. The point of dragging your hand is to re-direct your feet from going over you head and getting away from you. There's no reasion to jump 3 feet in the air then you cant reach the ground this trick just skims the knuckle
6) now get low and as your coming in think about letting your feet get out in front then your going to pull them back down to the landing your arm and squeezing you abs side ways. at first its going to seem quit gay. but as you get more comfortable youll find you can go faster and deeper.
think smart dont go to fast and send a huge horizontal dead sailer to the flats. like all tricks its about timing.
watch some in the moves and compare it to these notes. study the trick look for key things like contact points with the snow and where there head is looking.

i understand most of the sentence but can u restate the arm and abs part

Sorry thats WITH your arm and squeezing ........

well what I mean is. You know that sweet shot of every hand drag you see where there feet are up and there hand touching the ground. Well its like the opposite of hanging horizontally from a pole instead of lifting up your pulling down. I hope that makes seance

one hand is dragging on the ground. Thats the hand thats going to stop you from going inverted
the other hand can grab japan or flout there all cool like

do u really want to throw it that hard? so hard that u would go inverted if ur hand wasnt stopping it?

I kind of learned them last year but i have to use both hands and im pretty sure they don't look nearly as cool as simon dumonts.

ya your going to have to use both your hands on this one. Its the only way Iv see to do it so far, unless you send it hella deep.
spin more in the set up so you go over to your stomach. when this happens you will see the need to use your other hand to roll it back over and push your self to the landing

hwat helped me most is getting that feeling as if you were hopping a fence. just holding on and throwing your legs over.

watch this video
at 2:03 and 2:16 no offense but that definitey doen't look like jumping over a fence.when i did them i barley had to push off the ground to get back on my feet.
I just wanna get over doing it with both hads

I think the hoping a fence trick is more for normal 180 hand drags . Also not many people throw 360 hand drags like simon's. But after watching his I think it comes down to needing a lot of speed, a lot of committing to the trick and a lot of skill.

dont let that fool you.1 your holing ass2 if it does go wrong your flying down hill edges first and if they hook up....blam ouch3 there's no such thing as a low risk trick when your not paying attention
but ya safer then some
