im looking to purchase a nice digital camera. ive been around cameras for awhile, using film however. i was looking for a decent digital camera in the 300-4 range. i like the dslr conept, but im having trouble choosing between the rebel and some other non dslr (Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H9). im not sure of the pros and cons and shit. anybody have any suggestions on a legit setup/thoughts?

Your price range is a little low for a new DSLR. Olympus makes a solid cam(E410) as long as your not using it in low light.

honestly, i havent done a whole lot of research, but i've used the canon rebel xt and the xti, and i loved using both of them. amazing pictures.

The cons to a high end point and shoot are shutter lag, response, AF speed, image quality, and lack of ability to expand. The cons of a DSLR are price and size.
