Halfpipe in olympics

so.. im in school and im writing a paper on why skiing half pipe should or shouldnt be in the olympics. could anyone give me some information or personal opinions on why or why not ski halfpipe should be in the olypmics.

i think that it sould be in the olimpics. people will see that there is more to skiing then G suits and bashing gates at high speeds.

it shows a large audience how skiing has progressed and changed. When people think if skiing its either racing or aireals or something. Letting a newschool sport into the olympics really helps other people see the new side of skiing.

i think it shouldnt because it will cause skiing to eventually become like snowboarding with hundreds of really crappy skiers for every good one.

well luckily skiing 1/2 pipe will be in the olympics soon. A few of my friends are forefunning in 2008. not sure if it will b in 2008 but there defintely seeing how it will work. and if so they will include it in next olymics

Yea plus I really believe that there are some sports they should rule out of the winter olympics because its easy to see that they were possibly popular back in the day but have fallen off the contemporary trends of winter sports, like the cross country rifle shooting shit, that stuff is straight ridiculous

 
it should be in the olympics, if it is in for snowboarding then it should for skiing

for it to b in the olympics it has to b a sport in a certian number of countries.. u also have to drop another sport for it to be instated in. the olympic committe im sure will say we are represented by bumb skiiers and by thos ariels, but for skiing half pipe to be in the olympics a lot would need to happen, and hopefully within the next few lympic years it will

2010 vancouver I think will have 1/2 pipe skiing as an official venue. snowboarding has been in it since Lillihammer, Norway

or maybe France 1992 or 1994 was the beginning of snowboarding 1/2 pipe

I believe it should be because freeskiers are just as good athletes as many other sports. also it would bring the eye of the world onto our sport and would help to promote it helping it grow helping push the limits of what can be done in halfpipe skiing. Also like siad above there are much gayer sports in the olypics such as I shit u not BALLROOM DANCING.

 
the cross country shooting thing is called the Biathalon, also known as the Norwegian Drive-By

and Snowboard pipe has only been in the Olympics since the Salt Lake City games in 2002

Personally, i dont want skiing pipe to be in the games, cause it would just attract more people to the sport, and as cool as that is, i dont like fighting for my spot in line for a jump/pipe, and especially not for first tracks

It should not be in the olympics. the judging is so gay. they rank like difficulty of the tricks and give a certain anount of points for a trick. its to systematic. they dont take into consideration things like flow and back to back tricks. it would just be stupid.

Well, in theory they could incorporate those things into the judging and who is to say they won't? You're point is a valid one, though.
