half full or half empty

ok, tell me your opinions on this, is a glass hlaf hull of half empty? my opinion is that if the glass was filled to the top then you drink half, then its half empty. but if you only fill up the glass half way then its half full. hmmmmmm i wonder...

 
my social studies teacher is mr. knox. he's a freakin geek and would ask a stupid question like this.
