In terms of snow, it really could go either way. Christmas is still early season, so it depends on how much of a base builds up through the autumn. You should have good and consistent snowfall by then, but there may not be enough of a base down by then for everything to be skiable. It's an El Nino year this year which may affect things too.
Chances are, it'll be better than the Alps though!
