HAHAHA MSP Steals from tutorials for editing

The thing that is funny, is that they pay a lot of money for their "effect artist" to steal other peoples work.

to those that are saying "who cares" or "why does it matter"...

for a second think about what is going on. MSP has one of the biggest budget of all companies. instead of using that budget for making a better video, they are pocketing the money from sponsors and everybody that buys the video, while in turn they are using their influence to fuck over other companies that are original. if the whole teddybear crisis thing is true, then thats fucked up. the big money should be going to those that work hard and push the sport, like level 1, theory 3, etc

but instead I guess you just rather allow MSP to continue to hold back the whole ski film business with their shitty slowmo and edits by a bunch of old has-beens that only seem to care about the money these days

im just a fucking student and have more talent then all of the MSP crew combined, doesnt that make you wonder why they still get the big sponsorships? they were great when only them, TGR and PBP were making films, but MSP's time is over and the only thing going for them is money

MSP... scratch one day of filming park from a bird and use the money to hire somebody who can make their own graphics. yeah its just a trailer but still thats embarassing. also. slowmo can be sick when thrown in once in a while. but shot, after shot, after shot of like 10% speed shots gets OLD.

^ it actually tells you how to add snow on the bottom of the page, that wasnt them being creative either

wow mr scruff, i hadnt realised how much i am just like MSP. damn, im sorry i brought it all up. using a gun as a letter in a font that someone else has used before, damn thats low, way low. i guess i better back off duder, you win

your the pathetic ones... you think that msp is all shitty and thaat but who cares there shots and edits were all dope as shit so who cares if they copied that editing

it really is pathetic. I mean, did you guys see the claw? it looks like an intro to "the chronicles of narnia" to begin with. it is too bad that they seem to make headlines for the wrong reasons ever year just around the time the teaser comes out. Do you guys remember the lawsuit drama last year at this time? Weren't they threatening to sue NS for slander?

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Plus, how many of you have ever taught yourself an editing program without any help?

I guess I wasn't on NS for the year or two when everybody turned against them, but I was on here back in the day when they were one of 4 companies actually making ski movies. If you've ever been to one of their premieres, you'll see all kinds of people there who are obviously not as die hard or as "cool" as you are, but they still love skiing and MSP's movies keep them stoked on it. Maybe they are attracting the Warren Miller crowd more now, but at least they are still showing skiing to the masses and gaining support for it, you know?

We dont get paid huge money to "imitate" other peoples ideas. We are talking about big money paid professionals stealing from a tutorial site on how to use the very program they are supposed to be professional at.

Its like your mechanic taking a look at your car, then taking out "automobile repair for dummies"

dude you alrady claimed you have more talent than all of MSP put together... lol just stop now before you say anything else retarded... or take your desire and talent and film more cars driving over rocks, and dont forget your glock!

Yeah, Premiere and AE really aren't that difficult if you put some effort into them. AE is significantly harder than premiere, but i've still been able to make some stuff in there..

Anyways, i thought that intro was HORRIBLE to begin with.. Now it's actually funnier knowing this.

LAWL

we know what they do, they turn sponsors away from other movies that are actually better than them and creative. They threaten to end business with VAS if they don't get their video on the cover of their catalogue, even thoguh poor boyz had been promised the cover for creating a video so good(1242) and selling many more copies than focused. watch the hidden videos in high five. you will see how horrible and corrupt msp is and how they deserve to disrepected. They do not deserve my respect, because they did not respect the creative companies, the companies I support.

its just that theres a big difference from a repeated/modified and just using the copy and paste commands

fkxpro- its cool youd like to get down on your knees for some one on one with steve winter but your arguement really has no merit. other than stating the obvious, do you really have a point to make? cause i have yet to see any justification for someone who is a "professional" to use that. its fine using anything from COW or any other site if you and winter want to make a homemade porn, but it is quite embarassing to use in the professional world, as others from this thread have proven

Interesting non the less

but WHO THE FUCK CARES. its a ski movie, its not out to win some sundance award for most original video. its a fucking ski movie judge the movie not some dumb opening credits that doesnt mean two shits that half of us fast foward through when watching the video

well the movie encompasses everything from content and editing. so if their editing is a slap copy (not even a variation) then there is a problem, especially considering the recent ethics of the company and their overall composition (the movies are dull).

leave it to the big companies to take some amazing viedo but assemble it all mediocre and such

is anyone else sick of 10% shots? I JUST WANT TO SEE THE DAMN TRICK...! its ok for like, the two COOLEST shots in a segment. but for fucks sake.

and please keep your homosexual urges hidden and repressed until you find the suitable brokeback 4x4 orgy. but anyways thats childish enough. my point is if you look hard enough youll find something to sudo discredit everyone and anyone.

hell i only had to look up how to spell glock (im not a gang member sorry) to find the 2nd site on the google return

http://www.glockworld.com/

looks a lot like the way you spell your logo.

but whatever, its a problem for creative people, ive been there and its a lot easier if you let go and dont pay attention to what everyone else is doing cause your brilliant idea has probably been done before anyway. you just dont know it until someone in tunisia sues you...

seems like your all just making big issues out of shit like this so you can stand up and thump your chests claiming some sort of bizaar creative richeousness.

im not saying im the first to ever use a gun in a logo, but if you see the teaser on my site, logo, animation, you won't see any of the EXACT same elements used anywhere else in the world because i modeled the gun and logo, did the animation, used my own way to come up with an idea that may not be original but the execution is

on the other side, MSP used the snow fall comp from the AE tutorial, the smoke comp from the AE tutorial as well as the camera, lighting and shadow, floor texture from the AE project file, without any attempt to make it their own. the only thing they changed are the words and font. others might not care at all but for a company that is supposed to be one of the best ski film companies in the world, I am going to hold them to a higher standard, and this thread shows that I'm not the only one too.

im not claiming that I or others work is 100% original, but my workflow is a lot different then opening up a premade project file and changing the letters. as someone that buys ski films, it bugs me that they don't put more of an effort into producing the best product they can, especially after they try to block others from trying to do just that

you guys are alll fucking pussy bitches who cant think of anythying else better to do that complain all the fuckign time time. its pathetic and annoying as fuck, takes away from what people could actually get out of this site...you guys mean to tell me youve NEVER used a tutorial to help with tsomething ever? and who the fuck gives a shit if they didnt change it that much or exactly copied a single tutorial from a single website somewhere out there online? face it fuckers, the ski industry isnt that big...people copy other stuff out there and they take from it and learn from it. and THAT is the key point, as long as you learn something get better at it in the future everythings all chill. so in the end, get the fuck off of the high horse that all of you guys think your riding and get over the fact that "OMG d00d did U C that they copied a 5 second animation for a TRAILER for a SKI movie that barely anyone (compared to the global population) is going to see!?!?!?! OMG THATS SO WACK!"

shut the fuck up.

^exactly.

^^and i dont care about your glock logo that wasnt my point... get over yourself.

thats the thing, its not stealing, its on a public tutorial site for people to use however and whenever they want. it would only be stealing if MSP took that tutorial and put it opn another tutorial site as if they made it up, plus a lot of time movie companies have other people send in like 10 trailers and they pick the best one, so MSP might have not even made it

im glad they spend their money on what counts: skiing. who gives a shit if the editing on a teaser isnt top notch??? i'd much rather have sponsor money going toward sick heli trips and capturing the shots that make a film great. that is exactly why most amateur films are way over-produced and filled with all sorts of stupid editing tricks.....they dont have the money to get shots that can stand alone without a bunch of stupid editing tricks.

and besides, the only thing people like about msp is the tahoe stuff. you cant rip the gaffneys, you just cant.
