Hahaha how to do a backflip on skis

Steps

1Step OneFind a ramp-type jump that will shoot you slightly less than vertical into the air.

2Step TwoApproach the jump with speed.

3Step ThreeTilt your head back so that you are looking skyward the moment you take off.

4Step FourKeep your head tilted back and kick your feet and skis upward so that they end up above your head.

5Step FiveTuck your knees to your chest in midair to rotate faster.

6Step SixLook for the ground as you rotate so that you can anticipate when you are going to land.

7Step SevenLand the back flip standing tall, and then absorb the impact of the landing by bending at the knees and ankles.

haha

the best part...

Introduction

One of the most difficult and impressive tricks on alpine or telemark skis is the back flip.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

first off, it doesn't say kick the jump, it says kick your FEET skyward which is exactly what you do unless you don't want to rotate and just land on your back.

depends how your doing it, if you look in aerials they are not throwing their hips back nor arching there backs. And don't say well we're not doing fuckin aerials here buddddd, the point is it is still a somewhat accurate description. It doesn't really matter though because no one is going to go on some e-how site to learn how to do a backflip.

"Fins are great when it comes to surfing, but only if they're attached to the bottom of your board! Avoid sharks while surfing and you're guaranteed to have a better session!"

that wasnt a description how to do a stylish backflip, but that defenetly is how you could do one.

word thats how i do it, i do it like i would be backflipping off a rock with no skis on, spot the landing the whole way around. although i do it seth morrison style and come people just tuck up the whole time. theres no wrong way to do a backflip

that was obviously posted by some 40 year-old ex-"hot dog" freestyle guy from the 80's. It wasn't a terrible description. It works.

If you want to talk about style, backflips aren't stylish at all by todays standards anyways, unless it's a really slow one on a huge kicker. So idk.

But to any person that doesn't know much about newschool skiing, backflips are the coolest thing ever. I've seen guys in the park throw big switch 7's and spectators be like "hmm, well that was pretty cool". But as soon as someone throws a no-grab backflip their jaw hits the floor.
