Umm.. hackers don't find buffer overflows, you create a buffer overflow. And not even all buffer overflows result in getting root priveleges.

Whoever asked what sub7 is, it's a trojan. Old and outdated, most virus scanners will detect it.

Hacking doesn't even usually involve writing a program in C++... why would I know, a lieutenant from Miami University in Ohio came to my house and read me my rights cause I was involved in circumventing their email server to get my friends ex girlfriends emails for him. That was enough of a wake up call for me, well that and another incident involving school to get out of doing such unproductive things with my computer. I've been programming for a long time and my computer science degree is more important to me then being able to say i'm a h4x0r.

I agree with andy on most topics involving people here and some of their computer idiocy, but I'm definitely not as abrasive as him. It's ok though hopefully his girlfriend will tone his cynicism down.

i love this shit! i knew as soon as i saw the topic for this thread exactly what would be going on in it, and by gearge i was right. first it was bashing on the uninformed kid about hacking then it turned to bashing on someone who actually had some intelligence, but then again every time i see andy post something someone is always trying to throw shit on him, granted its been a while since i have seen a post from him
