GUYS we need to buy this

seriously we should do it.. 50$ from everyone and if someone was willing to run it just make it all one big park and whoever said no boarders.. you crazy? how would it make money? theres more boarders then skiers

in that one picture there is some gnar shit across the way. wonder if it's lift accessed. if not, it should be.

here's the plan, we make one ns paypal account, or a mod could make it for us so that everyone doesn't know the password, and then we all transfer $50 to it, and each person gets sent a certificate saying that they own a share of the resort. We borrow some money to get it running, and then reep the rewards.

haha, i doubt this is going to work but it'd be so sick. I just wish i lived closer to it if we did buy it.

doug or cko should make this news on the front page, asking everyone on ns to donate some $$$$ if people actually really tried to gater money up i would donate a couple g's

id pay 50$, but like 3.9 mil is pretty steep, idk if 50$ per person would cover it, if you guys are serious try to get this a sticky and we can see wat we could do

stretch it costs so much cash to get the place started, buying this thing would only buy the property and buildings and shit, you need to pay for electricity, plumbing, heating, etc. we can't raise that kinda money becuase unless you get like tons of seasons passes early we wont have the cash.

who sells ski resorts on ebay?

well anyways, yeah we should definatly contribute to this.

according to the sign in page, there are 83,588 - we can round that to 84,000 probably within the next month.

so, $3,900,000 / 84,000 = $46.43 per person

i know everyone cannot afford this, and the parentals probably wouldnt all support it, but thats reasonable.

anyone on the site who is majoring in commercial real estate can represent newschoolers as a foundation and/or organization - set up a monthly payment plan or some sort of financial setup, and if everyone donates a flat 50, that means that we have 3.57 left over per person

so, 3.57 x 84,000 = $299,880

that total is well enough money to get started with utilities, maintenance, and labor costs.

lets get started

of spmeone really wanted 2 they could contact some ski and board companies... im sure that if u contacted a few they would donate alot of $.. to burton a million bucks iis pocket change u know... it could b teh dc mountain lab but open to the public

is cracy to think that 80,000 individual members would contribute. However I think people would be willing to spend more than $50 to own part of a ski area. If we bumped up the price to $500 then we would only need 8,000 members to get it done. And $500 isn't much to pay for a lifetime pass.

wow... that would probably be the coolest thing in the history of mankind. a community of skier kids buying a ski resort all starting from donations on Newschoolers.com pretty much the best headline ever

Okay, there are 80,000 people on this site. But it's probably safe to say that a max of 20,000 regularly visit NS. Of those 20,000, how many live close enough to this mountain to make donating a worthwhile investment? Probably an absolute maximum of 4,000. Unfortunately, I'd highly doubt that those 4,000 skiers are going to fork over the dollars to buy this resort.

even tho it says that there are 83,591 members here, it doesn't mean ppl. i myself have made maybe 5 accounts, there are 83,591 accounts on ns not ppl

well this would be rad, but sadly it isn't a reality. the price will probably go up and there's no way it could be supported. but don't worry guys when i'm a quadbillinaire i'll definately buy a sweet mountain and you guys can ski there.

That resort wasn't open this year because the lifts didn't pass safety tests, and the owner refused to replace them. He was shut down. So, on top of that large sum of money, we'd have to replace every single lift on that mountain. But that doesn't really matter, because this is a wild fantasy. Don't get me wrong, it would be off the meat rack if we owned a resort... but really. Think about it.
