Don’t wanna be that guy but go look at his ig. He isnt a skier anymore. He only posted 3 ski clips this whole year and 90% of his ski content from the year prior is him naked. Idgaf if you’re gay, straight, bisexual, or Blandz, theres no reason to have that many naked ski pics. Like seriously what is that shit if you go back to July 2017 theres so many naked pics and its like what even is the point of this it just trips me out tbh. Im not homophobic in any way, shape, or form, but hes playing the gay card way too hard.

But anyways my whole point is: To me he just seems like a clout chaser playing the gay card and the olympics is his last clout chase that involves skiing cause he clearly doesnt care about it at this point. Which is fine but still super unnecessary and weird.

Gus is corny, but don’t forget that the dude is fucking good on skis. I think the whole skiing for Britain thing is wack but it more so points to a whole flaw in the olympics method of choosing. The olympics should just choose the top best skiers in the world without filtering for country of origin. That would stop all these athletes from changing countries in order to compete.

I don’t think anyone ever hated on Gus for being gay its just that he acts so obnoxiously gay that its hard not to mention. If you look at his instabanger or something you can kinda tell he’s a little feminine but he acts super chill and just seems like a normal gay dude. Then the olympics happened and being a gay athlete was such a big deal for some fuckin reason ill never understand. Idk why him being gay was ever even news in the first place who tf cares. But After that he turned into a super gay and its just kind of off-putting for some ppl. Im not mad at all im Canadian, am never going to the olympics, kind of a homo myself, and im on a website full of ppl i’ll never meet in my life.

I don’t care about what he’s doing at all I just think he’s doing it for the wrong reasons. Like honestly think about it, how can you say your doing it to for your mom. Thats the most retarded shit ive ever heard. Nobody who is a parent and has a child in the olympics would ever care about what country their reppin, it would be a total honour to even have a son as cool as Gus. Hes doing lots of good things with his life, he just isnt doing any ski things. Thats why its wrong.

The whole photo thing is just a personal opinion. When I see a girl that only posts bikini pics, I think shes a hoe. The thing which annoys me is that for many people, Gus is the face of freeskiing. Not because he’s the best but because of his publicity. A few years back it was fine, he was legit one of the best skiers in the world so yeah, I was cool with him being freeskiings face. But now there are unquestionably better skiers who won’t get benefits such as sponsor $ / exposure through interviews etc because the $ / exposure will go to Gus despite him not being particularly relevant in the ski world anymore.

In the UK, Gus will probably get more recognition and celebration than woodsy has ever done despite everything woodsy has done for UK skiing purely because Gus is a bigger celebrity. And that is shitty imo

I could care less about the Olympics. They used to be a beautiful thing, but the IOC ran it into the ground. It's just an advertisement circle jerk featuring Liz Swaney type characters who just want to be on TV so they can show their grandma or something. Gus Kenworthy used to be a fucking sick skier, but now he's more of a gay public figure than a park skier. I hope the best for him, but I don't think he is going to do well in a major comp ever again.

n gay dudes are pissed at gus too for how he handled his new 'gay stardom'. continue to rock it in the park and show being gay doesnt mean you have to be into drag queens and femmy shit? no, he goes on drag queen shows and paints his nails, completely changes how he approaches social media, posts 10x more about how gay he is rather than a thing about skiing. i think he kind of understood that was a turnoff to his original fan base and has tried to correct it a bit, but i kinda stopped liking him/stopped following him for that reason.
