Guns vs. Pistols

I know I'm probobly gonna get jumped on for this but, I live in MI so I will be using them for the little BC that we do have but next summer/fall I will be moving to telluride, so do I get the guns which are probobly a little better as far as MI is concerned or do I suck it up and get the pistols? I do not want to start a salomon bashing thread and could really use the input, so only intelligent replies, thanks. I'm looking at 175 guns or 179 pistols I'm, 5'8 and 140, done growing.
 
It's true though. You can't dispute it. Unless you wanna be WRONG!

Seriously though, that's probably the only way you'll know for sure. I'm sure they both a great in the pow but it's about personal preference. Pistols have a beefy wood core, Guns have a not so beefy foam core. I'm a taller guy who likes a ski with a bit of heft to them, so a lighter ski doesn't feel very secure to me. I like the feel of a wood core better. But my friend, who is probably 20lbs lighter, and 4 inches shorter, likes the feel of a lighter ski.
 
yea, bohemia is where it's at for MI BC, FUCK IT, PISTOLS IT IS.....can anybody recomend a binding, I've got p10's on my chronics and I like those, but are they a good choice for pistols/big mountain?
 
I highly suggest looks on your BC skis, I have a pair of salo race stock on mine and generally the release works well and everything, but the issue is that when I do need to put skis back on and I'm in snow up to my waist, it'd be a lot easier with a pair of pivots. I find they're just easier to click into.
 
Stop crashing! jk. You find it better because you can pull up on the dildo or what? I have minimal experience with look, always mount salomons and I find it is the easiest binding to stuff a powder drenched boot into.
 
In a tough spot, yeah... but I just find they lock in more easily in general. I have to put direct downward pressure, and have 0 snow on my sole, to get into my salos. Otherwise I just pop right back out. They're not bad, I just think the axials are better.
 
I totally agree man, everybody is hatin on salomon all the time... I'll bet most of them never even owned or rode salomon. And you're right, they are perfect for lighter riders who won't put as much stress on them as bigger guys. If you weight 160 lbs or less, I'd definitely consider them... unless you want something from a "core" company.

I'm actually very happy with salomon this year. They're actually taking a very active park in the newschool industry with their new models. Next year when I'm in the market, I'm definitely going to consider them.
 
They used to be right... Salomon used to suck. This year however, they don't.
 
not really dude, your just stupid. it depends on how he rides. some park rats just throw their weight around and call it a turn, and its hard with a big ski. but people who actually know how to ski, theres a diffrent situation. if this kid knows how to actually ski well, hell be fine. weights not a problem for good skiers. i rode 185 rockets when i was like what, 135lbs. this kid wont have any problems with the pistols. period.
 
You have some points... but... yeah. BIT of a different ski the blue noodle is. Anyone could manage those things.
